An all time great sports movie. Probably my favorite sports movie. If there were anything wrong with anyone else's performance I'd say Hackman held the movie together. Instead, everyone in it is great, the score (music) is great, and Gene Hackman still shines. Worth a rewatch every couple years. The blu ray looks fine but it's a crime that this doesn't have a 4k blu ray release.

Finally. A proper 4k release of one of the best movies of all time, and my favorite musical of all time. I've been a fan of this movie since it came out. I've had the vhs, dvd, blu ray, and now the 4k blu ray. This transfer looks fantastic. Very vibrant and the colors pop. In fact, I dialed back the color saturation a bit. You don't want too much pop on Skid Row. It's a huge improvement ov...

I'd give this a 3.5. A touching story about a woman and a dog that kept my interest and even made me cry. Naomi Watts is solid here and Bill Murry did well in his limited role.

Wow. I hated this movie. It started OK with some funny banter and some fun characters who, for once, weren't just a bunch of world beating plot foils. If they had just let these characters have a good low importance story of their own, this could have been good. But no, they had to cook up a new literally all powerful plot foil character to threaten all of existence and be challenged by a few ...

Star Trek The Lower Decks is one of my favorite Trek shows of all time. It's weird to say because it is a combination of a comedy, drama, and both a parody and love letter to Trek while also just being it's own Trek show. It's a crime this got cancelled after 5 seasons. There's so much Trek lore and nerding out here, but it's also just really solid and funny writing from the show runner, Trek s...

This was my favorite book as a teenager. Admittedly, I didn't (and don't) read much. This book kept me coming back though. It did such a good job of making you feel what it was like to be in the situation. I was skeptical about the movie and it did land on the side of disappointment. It wasn't too bad, but I don't think, despite the book being short, that you can nearly gain the same sense of...

My third favorite Wes Anderson Film. As his later films largely did, this title carries much of the character of his previous film Rushmore but still manages to set it self apart. I'm always impressed by directors like Wes and Quentin, because they broke ground with their unique style and vision, but somehow manage to continue to impress with later offerings even when the "novelty" of the style ...

My second favorite Wes Anderson movie, behind only Rushmore and followed by The Darjeeling Limited. Great from start to finish and it looks terrific in the new UHD release. For fans of his later films who haven't seen this one, do yourself a favor and watch it...while trying to appreciate that so much of the flavor of the later films was born here.

This movie was better than recent Marvel movies. Being a stand alone story it had time to develop characters a little and wasn't just and endless attempt to cram as many actors and characters into one movie as possible. It was nothing special, though a huge upgrade from something like Thunderbolts, which I thought was just terrible. I think the Marvel cinematic universe has run it's course. No...

This was better than I could have hoped for. It really struck the perfect Weird Al tone. So silly, but still gave some reverence to the master. Video quality was great. SPOILER ALERT: As a child I had all his early cassettes and I always felt like he didn't get enough credit for the original songs he wrote. Yes they were still comedic songs but they weren't parodies and they were some of his ...
