While Hwang Jung-min as the hit-main in DELIVER US FROM EVIL resembles some of his darker and more unforgiving character roles like in Asura: The City of Madness or New World (2013), audiences will surely be in for a metamorphosis like they haven’t seen before with actor Lee Jung-jae in his role as Ray, a.k.a. “The Butcher.” --The Movie Beat The child trafficking theme has enough unsettling depth to compensate for the trite premise, plus, the revenge subplot fits in well with the main story, emphasizing the contrast between the likable hero and the ruthless villain, both played brilliantly, but this violent thriller also impresses with a slick photography and edgy camera work that benefit from the Jap and Thai settings, and some frantic fist combats, cut-throat knife fighting, bombastic explosions, and intense car chases. --Cine Marvellous!
