Figured out the twist like 20 min in which just made me go through the rest of the movie hoping it wasn’t actually going to be true. Would’ve been a harmless 2.5-3 star Christmas movie without it. Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding blameless

Did not remotely hold up at all, was wildly disappointed. Grew up loving Jim Carrey movies, but this was just straight up obnoxious. Give me Cable Guy over this any day

Amazing real life story, boring cliched movie. Strong A/V presentation for what I believe was one of the first 4K discs ever released. Shows the value in this format even beyond big budget action movies

Incredible beginning for Michael Mann. 10/10 soundtrack and vibes. Can see the groundwork laid for a lot of what came later, especially Collateral and Heat. New goal for this year to fill in my gaps in his filmography

Took me a minute to get on this one’s wavelength but ultimately pulled me in. Ed Harris is fantastically sinister, loved him in this. Themes are played a bit on the nose but it finds a way to keep itself consistently interesting despite that.

John Candy is a goddamn international treasure. This was an absolutely incredible restoration by Kino, was blown away by how this looked. Should be a standard for how these are done going forward

Cannot help but admire how audaciously batshit crazy this movie is. Solid enough A/V credits for a low budget comedy. Recommend if you're looking for something more out there than the usual dumb comedy

Did not expect to love this as much as I did. Excellent rendition of this type of movie, plays its cliches so well you don’t even mind them. Entertaining, well written, and with well rounded characters, can’t ask for much more

Director’s Cut Review - I did not appreciate this as much as I should’ve on first watch although I may have watched the theatrical version. Incredible film, classic Spielberg. Makes you viscerally feel the urge to understand what it all means and the impact it has on everyone around Richard Dreyfus’s character. Only complaint is that there is too much of the aliens themselves at the end.

Doesn’t sit in the same league as Naked Gun or Airplane but still has some incredible bits. Good enough restoration for what this movie is, so no complaints on the A/V front
