Really good disaster movie. Great sets and great effects. Some of the CGI ages rough, but that’s to be expected. Excellent performances and really tense atmosphere from start to finish.

Really strong, really better than most IP riff raff that came after it. Much better than it’s sequels…except maybe “Bumblebee.” The effects still look good and the 4k was cleeeeeeeeeean.

I thought this was fine when it came out and that stays the same now. Yea, they could have done a different story but it feels like they thought they were getting a franchise going. They need to do this again with the “Avatar” tech and get it right this time.

Who knew? I should have, because it’s the Napoleon Dynamite director. Very funny, and accurate to much of the game’s lore and ideas according to my nephew who is a big fan. This is probably true given its success, and its fan base did not revolt. More studios should take note for their attempt at the video game movie cash cow.

So insanely long and boring. Tilda Swinton could not save this. It looks cool in a twizzy way, but it’s just simply not an enjoyable movie to sit through.

I think the original cut is still the best. Regardless of which cut you watch, this is so elite. The platonic ideal of an 80’s fantasy movie.
