Entertaining and fun movie with Ryan Reynolds doing his Ryan Reynolds thing. The humor and depth of the movie is pretty much what you'd expect from the premise (in other words - it's cute and funny but kind of empty). It's a light movie to pass the time. SPECIAL FEATURES - Deleted scenes and funny gag reels. No audio commentary.

SUCH A GREAT MOVIE. It's filmed (kind of) in documentary-style, with a wild premise of thousands of grasshopper-like aliens (derisively called "prawns") living in an apartheid state in South Africa. The protagonist is a goofy, privileged Afrikaaner played PERFECTLY by Sharlto Copley. What starts off a little bit like "The Office" turns into a bloody, gunplay-heavy, war film thriller, but still wit...

Really really good movie! Rutger Hauer is amazing as a relentless killer following C Thomas Howell's naive kid character through Texas, killing everyone around a terrified Howell. The focus is on the terror, of course, but I was surprised to find that there is an emotional journey that the characters go though as well. My quibble is that Hauer's character is sometimes too powerful, almost supernat...

So much bad weirdness. The main put-off for me was the way that Elizabeth Shue's character is written as such a complete oddball that she falls head-over-heels for the Saint disguised as a cartoonish euro-trash who says creepy things. But then when she finds out that he's actually a super-thief - she still wants to be with him! Very, very, bizarre. The goofy costumes and weird characters maybe c...

Super enjoyable sequel to the first Equalizer movie. Excellent action with visceral violence and clever situations. Fuqua is one of the best action-movie directors alive. It's a worthy sequel to the first one. However, that being said, it's not as good. The action is just as good, but the story isn't quite as satisfying. SIDE NOTE: Even though it's my least-favorite Equalizer movie, it has my M...

Bad movie. McG is pretty good at directing action scenes, but the story is weird and the story ideas are so tired that I actually groaned. Lots of big plot holes and unexplainable character behavior make it hard to enjoy this movie even on a purely escapist level. SPECIAL FEATURES - No audio commentary, but there is a movie promo featurette, a featurette about director McG, and a short interview ...
