The Core is a fun, loud disaster thriller, and the 4K UHD disc mostly sticks the landing. The video looks only “okay” at times, with grain and processing that can be uneven, so the upgrade feels small and inconsistent compared to the Blu-ray. The audio is the strong point, with a solid DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix that has plenty of surround and low-end.
