Description
Fun City Editions is a new boutique label focused on creating deluxe home video editions of maverick repertory cinema that can best be described as works that exist "outside of their time." Johnny (Vincent Spano, Baby It's You and Over the Edge) controls the drug trade in New York's rough Alphabet City neighborhood - as long as his mob bosses let him. But, when he refuses to follow orders to torch the tenement building he grew up in, Johnny puts himself and his loved ones in their unforgiving crosshairs. No Wave filmmaker Amos Poe's (The Blank Generation and Subway Riders) neo-noir cult favorite oozes '80s neon-lit, punk-tinged style. The innovative and vividly colorful visuals spring from the lens of cinematographer Oliver Wood (TV's Miami Vice, The Honeymoon Killers and Face/Off). Chic co-founder and dance music legend Nile Rodgers' supremely catchy synth-pop score propels the action. The cast of rising and veteran talents includes Kate Vernon (Pretty in Pink), Jami Gertz (Less Than Zero and The Lost Boys), Michael Winslow (the Police Academy series), Kenny Marino (Prince of the City and Death Wish 3) and Zohra Lampert (Let's Scare Jessica to Death and Splendor in the Grass). Restored and available on Blu-ray for the first time, Alphabet City is an evocative cinematic snapshot of a New York City that has long since vanished. Bonus Features: 1. Region A Blu-ray 2. Newly scanned & restored in 2k from its 35mm interpositive 3. Newly recorded audio commentary by director Amos Poe and writer Luc Sante 4. Newly filmed interview with actor Vincent Spano 5. Theatrical trailer 6. Image gallery 7. New video essay by filmmaker Chris O'Neill 8. Reversible cover 9. English SDH subtitles

Description
John Sayles' City of Hope is a portrait of a mid-sized American city and its complex politics, told through the interweaving narratives of its citizens. An old apartment block stands in the way of a major commercial development. Its owner, Joe Rinaldi, feels pressure to torch the apartments to allow for the new development, backed by crooked Mayor Baci and policeman O'Brien. Joe's estranged son, Nick, soon becomes a pawn in the power politics of the city by virtue of a botched robbery. Following the arrest of two teenagers, idealistic city councilman Wynn finds himself torn between what he thinks is right, and what his Black constituents want.

*This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* Vinegar Syndrome specializes in the masterful restoration and distribution of cult, horror, and erotic films from the 1960s-90s. One of the bloodiest and most creative, late 20th century horror franchises, THE PROPHECY TRILOGY, all of which star Oscar® winner Christopher Walken as the evil angel Gabriel, broke new ground in 1990s horror with their high concept narratives and gruesome practical effects. Vinegar Syndrome is proud to present the 4K UHD debuts of THE PROPHECY 1-3, or the "Gabriel" trilogy, all newly and exclusively restored and featuring an extensive array of new and archival bonus materials. In Gregory Widen’s acclaimed directorial debut, THE PROPHECY (1994), Elias Koteas (Crash) stars as Thomas Dagget, a former seminary student who has turned his back on religion, instead becoming a homicide detective. Thomas’ latest case, of a strangely deformed and mutilated corpse, pushes him into the middle of a bloody battle between Simon (Eric Stoltz), an angel of good, and Gabriel (Christopher Walken), an angel of evil, each of whom are attempting to gather souls and build an army in order to prevent - or bring about - the apocalypse. In director Greg Spence’s gruesome follow-up, THE PROPHECY II (1998), dark angel Gabriel, vengeful over his failure to bring about the end times, returns to earth intent on spreading violence and destruction, but soon sets his sights on Valarie Rosales (Jennifer Beals), a nurse who, unbeknownst to her, is pregnant with an angel. If Gabriel is able to kill both her and her child, he will hold sufficient evil power to finish his war in heaven. Finally, in director Patrick Lussier’s closing entry in the trilogy, THE PROPHECY 3: THE ASCENT (2000), the now human Gabriel is faced with an unlikely challenge - to assist Danyael, a resurrected half angel/half human in stopping the evil angel sent to kill him, and to help Danyael prevent Heaven's war and stop the coming of a second genocidal God - Pyriel. Bonus Features: 1. 4-disc Set: 4K Ultra HD x2 / Region A Blu-ray x2 2. 4K UHD presented in High-Dynamic-Range 3. Newly scanned & restored in 4K from their 35mm interpositives 4. Commentary track for THE PROPHECY with writer/director Gregory Widen and producer Joel Soisson 5. Commentary track for THE PROPHECY II with co-writer/director Greg Spence and producer Joel Soisson 6. Commentary track for THE PROPHECY III: THE ASCENT with
