Product Description THE INCREDIBLY TRUE STORY ABOUT MENAHEM GOLAN & YORAM GLOBUS' CANNON FILMS AND THE MOVIE STUDIO THAT DEFINED THE 1980's THE GO-GO BOYS: THE INSIDE STORY OF CANNON FILMS is a documentary about two Israeli-born cousins, Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, who in pursuit of the American Dream, turned the Hollywood power structure upside down, producing over 300 films and becoming the most powerful independent film company in the world. Directed by Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominee Hilla Medalia (After the Storm), The Go-Go Boys is an up close and personal documentary that examines the complex relationship between two contradictory personalities whose combined force fueled their success and eventual collapse. Featuring interviews with Jean-Claude Van Damme, Michael Dudikoff, Eli Roth, Boaz Davidson along with Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus themselves, as well as archive footage of Sylvester Stallone, Charles Bronson and Chuck Norris in the definitive documentary about Cannon Films. SPECIAL FEATURES: Original Theatrical Trailer Reversible Artwork Collectible Mini-Poster Review Loaded with clips from the first cousins’ generally tacky library of films, Hilla Medalia’s documentary will serve to those who were around during Cannon Films’ 1980s heyday as a fun reminder of some high-flying low-brow times and will prove amusing to younger viewers with a retroactive soft spot for Chuck Norris and Charles Bronson at their most archetypal. --Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood Reporter A solid celebration of Menahem Golan, Yoram Globus and their famous filmmaking empire… Both an affectionate tribute and a cautionary tale, “The Go-Go Boys” is a solid documentary. --Alissa Simon, Variety The Go-Go Boys presents a fascinating portrait that goes beyond the films and tells an enthralling story of two men who grasped the American Dream in all four hands. They may not have always been working towards something that was really worth the effort, but whatever they did, they did it with passion. --Craig Skinner, Film Divider

Los Angeles painter Arthur Blue (Peter Coyote, E.T. and Bitter Moon) and businessman Eli Kahn (Nick Mancuso, Ticket to Heaven and Nightwing) are the best of friends, commiserating and competing always, whether on the racquetball court or in the singles bar. When Blue's long-term girlfriend Cyd (Kathryn Harrold, Modern Romance and The Sender) leaves him for a more successful artist (Barney Miller's Max Gail) and Eli's father (George Morfogen, They All Laughed and V) passes away, they each fall for a beguiling French art gallery manager (Carole Laure, Sweet Movie and Get Out Your Handkerchiefs), and their fragmented bromance enters crisis mode. The late Carol Wayne (The Tonight Show and Surf II) co-stars and leaves a lasting impression as Blue's sad artistic muse and sometime lover. Filmmaker Bobby Roth (The Boss' Son and Circle of Power/Brainwash) based his screenplay on his experiences growing up and working in Los Angeles, and the film reflects his insider's view of the city and deep personal connection to the characters. Although filmed in Hollywood, Heartbreakers refreshingly and effectively evokes the mood of European relationship dramas. To this end, the film employs two of Germany's most revered exports to world cinema: director of photography Michael Ballhaus (the longtime cinematographer for Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Martin Scorsese) and pioneering electronic musicians Tangerine Dream (Sorcerer, Thief and Risky Business), who contribute one of their most emotional and evocative scores. Out of print on home video since the tape era, this critically-acclaimed festival favorite has been restored in 2K from its original 35mm interpositive and is poised to wow and surprise audiences anew. Bonus Features: 1. New 2K restoration from its 35mm interpositive 2. Booklet with new essays by Richard Harland Smith and Margaret Barton-Fumo 3. Newly recorded audio commentary by filmmaker Chris O'Neill and Bill Ackerman of the Supporting Characters podcast 4. "Pieces of My Life," a newly filmed video interview with director Bobby Roth 5. Terence Stamp is Willie, a gangster’s henchman turned “supergrass” (informer) trying to live in peaceful hiding in a remote Spanish village. Sun-dappled bliss turns to nerve-racking suspense, however, when two hit men—played by a soulless John Hurt and a youthful, loose-cannon Tim Roth—come calling to bring Willie back for execution. This stylish early gem from Stephen Frears boasts terrific hard-boiled performances from a roster of England’s best actors, music by Eric Clapton and virtuoso flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía, and ravishing photography of its desolate Spanish locations—a splendid backdrop for a rather sordid story. DIRECTOR-APPROVED BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES • High-definition digital restoration, approved by director of photography Mike Molloy, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack • Audio commentary from 2009 featuring director Stephen Frears, actors John Hurt and Tim Roth, screenwriter Peter Prince, and editor Mick Audsley • Interview from 1988 with actor Terence Stamp from the television show Parkinson One-to-One • Trailer • English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing • PLUS: An essay by film critic Graham Fuller
