The ensuing fratricidal war will put their lives, their culture and their ancestral traditions at risk. Review Birds of Passage earns the label epic for its tale about how the world changes, about how individual actions and the forces of fate work in concert to bring glory and ruin to a hero and his family. Critic's Pick. --The New York Times Literary elements are skillfully woven into the script by Maria Camila Arias and Jacques Toulemonde, which starts off in a world that may be poor and disadvantaged in many ways but that also has traditions of sustaining simplicity and integrity. It could be Greek or Shakespearean, though it is palpably modern and Colombian. --Roger Ebert.com A drug epic like you've never seen before...erupts with color.
