Description
Samuel Fuller (THE BIG RED ONE) wrote, produced and directed this raw-boned action-packed war film. Near the end of the French phase of the Vietnam War, a group of mercenaries are recruited to travel through enemy territory to the Chinese border, to blow up an arms depot. A Eurasian smuggler, Lucky Legs (Angie Dickinson), agrees to use her connections to help them, in return they agree to take her illegitimate son to America. The racist father of the boy, Sergeant Brock (Gene Barry), is also part of the multinational group. Lucky Legs must use the love of a Eurasian guerilla leader, Major Cham (Lee Van Cleef), to get access to the base. The other members of the patrol are also haunted by past memories - Goldie (Nat King Cole) is a veteran of Korea and World war II who hates war and wants to see peace at all costs; Corporal Pigalle (George Givot) is an ex-French gendarme who doesn't like taking orders; Captain Gaumont (Paul Dubov) is the mercenary leader; Charlie (James Hong) is an Vietnamese-American private; and Private Andreades (Gerald Milton), is a hard-nosed Greek expatriate.

Drug-smuggling. Racketeering. Loan sharking. Welcome to Hollywood! This hysterical comedy suggests it doesn't take much to make it in the movies … when you've got a background with the mob. Loan shark Chili Palmer (John Travolta) has done his time as a gangster. So when "business" takes him to L.A. to collect a debt from down-and-out filmmaker Harry Zimm (Gene Hackman), Chili jumps headfirst into the Hollywood scene: He schmoozes a film star (Danny DeVito), romances a B-movie actress (Rene Russo) and even gets reservations at the hottest restaurants in town. In fact, all would be cool for this smooth new producer if it weren't for the drug smugglers and an angry mobster who won't leave him alone. But hey, this is Hollywood and no one said it would be easy. Bonus Content: Remastered from a New 4K Transfer Audio Commentary with Director Barry Sonnenfeld Get Shorty - Look At Me Get Shorty - Wise Guys + Dolls Going Again Get Shorty Party Reel Page to Screen of Get Shorty Vignettes The Graveyard Scene Trailer

Description
Synopsis: Beautifully restored in 4K, Mickey Spillane’s The Long Wait (1954) makes its home video debut from ClassicFlix in a 4K UHD/Blu-ray combo release. Soon after thumbing a ride from a truck driver, Johnny McBride (Anthony Quinn) is badly burned and suffers from complete amnesia when the vehicle he’s riding in blows a tire and goes over an embankment in a fiery blaze. McBride later receives a tip from an acquaintance that a photo of him was placed prominently in the window of a photography studio in a town called Lyncastle, so Johnny immediately leaves for the burg in the hopes that something there will jog his memory. Arriving in Lyncastle, Johnny learns to his regret that the photo in question was taken from a wanted poster and that he’s the prime suspect in the murder of the town’s district attorney—after he allegedly stole $250,000 from the bank at which he was employed. In order to solve the mystery of his identity and the crimes, McBride sets out to find old flame Vera West whom he believes can prove his innocence. As the clues start piling up, Johnny encounters resistance from several townspeople, most notably from mob boss Servo (Gene Evans), who rules Lyncastle with an iron fist. Mickey Spillane is best known for his many Mike Hammer mystery novels, but in 1951 he published the non-Hammer The Long Wait, which soon became the subject of a motion picture from the same company who brought Spillane’s I, the Jury (1953) and Kiss Me, Deadly (1955) to the silver screen. On the cusp of stardom, two-time Academy Award winner Anthony Quinn headlines along with Oscar-winning actor Charles Coburn (The More the Merrier), Gene Evans (The Steel Helmet) and Peggie Castle (I, The Jury). Directed by Victor Saville (Tonight and Every Night) and photographed by Franz Planer (Champion, Criss Cross), The Long Wait cast also features Mary Ellen Kay, Jay Adler, Shirley Patterson, Barry Kelley, Dolores Donlon, James Millican, Bruno VeSota, Frank Marlowe and Lawrence Dobkin. Sit back and let the evening go with Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the 1978 musical spectacular featuring stunning reinterpretations of over twenty classic Beatles songs! The one and only Billy Shears (multi-platinum recording artist Peter Frampton) and his best friends the Hendersons (Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Bee Gees) are four young men from the quaint little town of Heartland. With superstardom calling, this fabulous foursome leaves Heartland (and Billy’s beloved Strawberry Fields, Sandy Farina) vulnerable to mean Mr. Mustard, who steals Sgt. Pepper’s magical instruments for a fiendish, "evil force that would poison young minds, pollute the environment, and subvert the democratic process. ", It’s up to our heroes to save everything they hold dear with the power of music, kindness, and heart. Featuring performances by Aerosmith, George Burns, Steve Martin, Earth, Wind & Fire, and more, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is a magical, musical tour through some of the greatest songs ever written, and an astounding time capsule of the late 70s unlike anything you’ve ever seen or heard.

Aspiring diva Prudence Budell (Kathryn Grayson) knew what she wanted in a singing partner and she found it on the street! Mario Lanza, already a recording sensation in 1949, made his screen debut in this glowing box-office success. As singing truck driver Johnny Donnetti, the broad-shouldered tenor proved he could handle lines with ease and warmth. And he amply showcased what everyone already knew - he could belt out a song (highlights include Donizetti's Una Furtiva Lagrima and Verdi's Celeste Aida). Grayson, who had a lifelong ambition to perform on the operatic stage, graced Verdi's Caro Nome with her bright coloratura. And, in his final movie, Jose Iturbi teamed with his sister for Chopin's stirring Revolutionary Etude.

A mysterious, meteorlike object has landed in a small California town. All clocks have stopped. A fleet of glowing green UFOs hovers menacingly over the entire globe. The Martian invasion of Earth has begun, and it seems that nothing—neither military might nor the scientific know-how of nuclear physicist Dr. Clayton Forrester (Gene Barry)—can stop it. In the expert hands of genre specialists George Pal and Byron Haskin, H. G. Wells’s end-of-civilization classic receives a chilling Cold War–era update, complete with hallucinatory Technicolor and visionary, Oscar-winning special effects. Emblazoned with iconographic images of 1950s science fiction, The War of the Worlds is both an influential triumph of visual imagination and a still-disquieting document of the wonder and terror of the atomic age.
