This 1951 film unknowingly helped establish the reputation of Sweden as the land of sin, just because of a short, innocent skinny dip, fanning the image of Sweden as a sexually permissive country, and eventually spawning a wave of “Swedish Sin” films exported all over the world. The film remains to this day one of Sweden’s biggest international box office successes of all time. It was awarded the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, and won the award for Best Music at the Cannes Film Festival. Newly restored in 4K by the Swedish Film Institute. Bonus Features: 1. Poster Gallery 2. "Arne Mattsson – A Career" – video essay by Rickard Gramfors (Klubb Super 8) and Jan Lumholdt (film critic and film historian) 3.
