Y: Marshals expands the Yellowstone universe with a gritty neo-Western procedural set in modern-day Montana. Following the explosive conclusion of Yellowstone, Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) leaves ranch life behind to join an elite unit of U.S. Marshals. Combining his skills as a cowboy and former Navy SEAL, Kayce becomes part of a specialized team tasked with bringing “range justice” to a region plagued by escalating violence, organized crime, and deep-rooted corruption. The series explores Kayce’s struggle to balance family obligations with the psychological toll of law enforcement. As he adapts to his new role, Kayce faces threats from gangs, cartels, and extremist groups, all while navigating the moral gray areas of frontier justice. His team includes seasoned operatives and ambitious newcomers, each with their own secrets and motivations. Together, they confront high-stakes cases that test their loyalty, resilience, and sense of duty. Season 1 unfolds across 13 episodes, blending intense action sequences with character-driven drama. From tense standoffs in remote ranchlands to undercover operations in small towns, the show captures the rugged beauty and peril of Big Sky Country. Returning Yellowstone characters like Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham), Mo (Mo Brings Plenty), and Tate Dutton (Brecken Merrill) deepen the narrative ties, while new faces—played by Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, Logan Marshall-Green, and Brett Cullen—add fresh dynamics to the ensemble. Created by Taylor Sheridan, Spencer Hudnut, and David C. Glasser, Y: Marshals combines the authenticity of Sheridan’s storytelling with the procedural intensity Hudnut honed on SEAL Team. Executive producers include Sheridan, Hudnut, Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, and Luke Grimes, ensuring the series maintains the cinematic scope and emotional depth fans expect from the Yellowstone franchise. At its core, Y: Marshals is about identity, sacrifice, and the cost of justice in a land where the line between law and survival is razor-thin. It’s a gripping new chapter that honors Yellowstone’s legacy while carving its own path through the untamed American West.
