Product Description From the producer of Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and Sinister comes Dark Skies: a supernatural thriller that follows a young family living in the suburbs. As husband and wife Daniel and Lacey Barret witness an escalating series of disturbing events involving their family, their safe and peaceful home quickly unravels. When it becomes clear that the Barret family is being targeted by an unimaginably terrifying and deadly force, Daniel and Lacey take matters in their own hands to solve the mystery of what is after their family. Amazon.com Producer Jason Blum, who scored major successes with micro-budget horror hits Paranormal Activity and Sinister, applies the same high-voltage approach to this well-crafted thriller about a suburban family under assault from malevolent forces. Writer-director Scott Stewart (Legion, Priest) adds an interesting element of zeitgeist to the proceedings by translating the family's financial instability--Dad (Josh Hamilton) searches in vain for work while Mom (Keri Russell) struggles to keep the family afloat with the meager returns from her real estate job--into a harbinger of unexplainable incidents, including doors and windows mysteriously unlocked and birds crashing into the house. As the phenomena increase in frequency and intensity, it becomes evident that the family has been targeted by a presence with apparent designs on the youngest son (Kadan Rockett), who already maintains a relationship with an unseen "friend." It all unfolds under an umbrella of slow-building dread, but by the time Dark Skies reaches its conclusion, Stewart provides little beyond a barrage of visual and sonic shock moments, which plays havoc on viewers' nerves but fails to deliver a genuinely frightening experience. He does have solid support from the perennially unsung Russell and Hamilton, as well as character actor J.K. Simmons, who lends a lot of credence to the picture as a paranormal abduction expert, but ultimately, Dark Skies will be most appreciated by fans of Blum's particular approach to otherworldly suspense. The Blu-ray includes commentary by Stewart, Blum, executive producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and editor Peter Gvozdas, who largely focuses on how the film's many technical aspects were achieved on a modest budget, while a 14-minute collection of deleted scenes offers noisier but mostly inconsequential moments, including an underfed alternate ending. Trailers for other Starz/Anchor Bay genre releases round out the two-disc Blu-ray/DVD/Ultraviolet set. --Paul Gaita

Steve Railsback (famed for his unhinged performance as Charles Manson in 1976’s TV mini-series Helter Skelter) is at his sinister best as a troubled Vietnam Vet in 1982’s Deadly Games - a tale of madness, murder and adultery from writer/director Scott Mansfied. A masked maniac with a penchant for a horror-themed board game is playing his own twisted game with the women of a small American town. Each time the dice is rolled, another victim meets a grisly end. Returning home to mourn the death of her murdered sister, Keegan (Jo Ann Harris) befriends local cop Roger and oddball cinema projectionist Billy (Railsback) - but soon finds herself in the killer’s sights. The five briskly entertaining, vividly performed westerns made by director Budd Boetticher and strapping star Randolph Scott in the second half of the 1950s transcend their B-movie origins to become rich, unexpectedly profound explorations of loyalty, greed, honor, and revenge. Often grouped under the name Ranown (after producer Harry Joe Brown and Scott’s production company) and colorfully scripted by Burt Kennedy and Charles Lang, these films seem to unfold in a world unto themselves, staking a claim between traditional westerns and the subversive genre revisionism of the 1960s—and representing the crowning achievement of the underappreciated auteur Boetticher. Product Description Denzel Washington, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott ignite a firestorm of excitement with DEJA VU on Blu-ray Disc. This powerful, fast-paced action-thriller will "keep you bolted to you seat" (Pete Hammond, "Maxim") as it blows you away in this jaw-dropping format. Called in to recover evidence after a horrific explosion, Federal agent Doug Carlin (Washington) is taken to a top-secret government lab that uses a time-shifting device to help prevent crime. But can it change the past? Negotiate every mind-bending twist and turn with visually spectacular 1080p, while the walls tremble around you in 5.1 48 kHz, 16-bit uncompressed audio. You'll have a blast experiencing it again and again in Blu-ray High Definition. Amazon.com In his most effective thriller since Enemy of the State, Tony Scott makes time travel seem plausible. It helps that his New Orleans hero, ATF agent Doug Carlin (Denzel Washington in his third go-round with the director), spends more time in the present than the past. In order to catch a terrorist, FBI Agent Pryzwarra (Val Kilmer) invites Carlin to join forces. They have the technology to see the past. He has the expertise to interpret the data. Unfortunately, the bomb has already gone off and hundreds of ferry passengers have died. Then there's the body of a beautiful woman, Claire Kuchever (Paula Patton, Idlewild), that turns up in the vicinity of the blast. Evidence indicates she was killed beforehand. Since the FBI enables him to observe Claire prior to her murder, Carlin gets to know what she was like and finds himself falling in love. He becomes convinced that the only way to solve the case--and prove her innocence--is to travel to the past. But as Pryzwarra's colleague, Denny (Adam Goldberg), argues, "You cannot go back in time. It's physically impossible." Or so he says. Déjà Vu is constructed around a clever script and executed by a top-notch cast, notably Washington, Patton, and an eerie Jim Caviezel (miles away from Passion of the Christ). In shedding the excesses of recent years--the sadism of Man on Fire and weirdness of Tarantino favorite Domino--Scott re-affirms his rep as one of the action movie's finest practitioners. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

*This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* Vinegar Syndrome specializes in the masterful restoration and distribution of cult, horror, and erotic films from the 1960s-90s. Jaxxon Pierce (Stephen Dorff, Blade), a capitalist in a now-barren Earth is responsible for manufacturing an immortality serum named "Divinity", which was originally developed by his late father Sterling Pierce (Scott Bakula, Lord of Illusions). Two brothers (Moises Arias and Jason Genao, Ender's Game and Logan, respectively), crash into the decaying Earth to stop Jaxxon from capitalizing on his serum, which is synthesized utilizing heinous methods and leaving an increasingly dire infertility rate in its wake. The twins hold Jaxxon hostage, dosing him with his own drug until his body becomes monstrous, setting the stage for a practical effects-fueled climax full of gruesome make-up and stop motion animation that has to be seen to be believed. Written and directed by Eddie Alcazar (Perfect), produced by Steven Soderbergh (Solaris) and gorgeously shot on 16mm black and white reversal film, DIVINITY is a sci-fi horror show like no other in recent memory. Featuring an eclectic ensemble cast that includes former teen star Bella Thorne (The DUFF), four-time Mr. Universe champion Michael O'Hearn, TV star Karrueche Tran (TNT's Claws) and contemporary adult film performer Emily Willis, Vinegar Syndrome Pictures is proud to bring Alcazar's lovingly crafted analog genre blast to home video following an international festival run that included nominations at Sundance and Sitges. Bonus Features: 1. Region A Blu-ray 2. "The Midnight Movie Is Dead" (60 min) - an audio conversation between DIVINITY writer/director Eddie Alcazar and producer Steven Soderbergh, moderated by Vinegar Syndrome's Justin LaLiberty 3. "The Modern Prometheus: Divinity and Speculative Science Fiction" (16 min) - a video essay by author and film historian Samm Deighan 4. Behind-the-scenes footage (10 min) 5. Theatrical trailer 6. Product Description Double Dragon roars to life with amazing special effects, spectacular action sequences, and a knock-about sense of humor. It's the year 2007, and what remains of L.A. is now 'New Angeles', a city ravaged by earthquakes, tidal waves and vicious gangs. The evil tycoon Koga Shuko (Robert Patrick, Terminator 2: Judgment Day) is obsessed with finding the two halves of a talisman known as the 'Double Dragon', which will give him awesome mystical powers. Two teenaged brothers, Jimmy (Mark Dacascos, John Wick 3) and Billy Lee (Scott Wolf, 'Party of Five') find themselves in possession of the amulet's missing half, thrusting them into the adventure of their lives. With the help of Maria (Alyssa Milano, 'Charmed') and her vigilante group 'The Power Corps', Jimmy and Billy must summon all of their courage, resourcefulness and martial-arts skills to stop the villain's malevolent plan. Review There is a genial exuberance to the lead performances of Wolf and Dacascos, who behave as though the Lee brothers aren't too many rungs above Beavis and Butt-Head on the evolutionary ladder. --Joe Leydon , The Moving Picture Show

Stanley Kubrick s painfully funny take on Cold War anxiety is without a doubt one of the fiercest satires of human folly ever to come out of Hollywood. The matchless shape shifter Peter Sellers (The Pink Panther) plays three wildly different roles: Air Force Captain Lionel Mandrake, timidly trying to stop a nuclear attack on the USSR ordered by an unbalanced general (The Killing s Sterling Hayden); the ineffectual and perpetually dumbfounded President Merkin Muffley, who must deliver the very bad news to the Soviet premier; and the titular Strangelove himself, a wheelchair bound presidential adviser with a Nazi past. Finding improbable hilarity in nearly every unimaginable scenario, Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb is a genuinely subversive masterpiece that officially announced Kubrick as an unparalleled stylist and pitch black ironist.
