Product Description An exotic, blind dancer finds herself torn between the loyalties of love and honor as she fights acrobatic warriors in the treetops in battles the likes of which have never before been seen. Amazon.com No one uses color like Chinese director Zhang Yimou--movies like Raise the Red Lantern or Hero, though different in tone and subject matter, are drenched in rich, luscious shades of red, blue, yellow, and green. House of Flying Daggers is no exception; if they weren't choreographed with such vigorous imagination, the spectacular action sequences would seem little more than an excuse for vivid hues rippling across the screen. Government officers Leo and Jin (Asian superstars Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro) set out to destroy an underground rebellion called the House of Flying Daggers (named for their weapon of choice, a curved blade that swoops through the air like a boomerang). Their only chance to find the rebels is a blind women named Mei (Ziyi Zhang, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) who has some lethal kung fu moves of her own. In the guise of an aspiring rebel, Jin escorts Mei through gorgeous forests and fields that become bloody battlegrounds as soldiers try to kill them both. While arrows and spears of bamboo fly through the air, Mei, Jin, and Leo turn against each other in surprising ways, driven by passion and honor. Zhang's previous action/art film, Hero, sometimes sacrificed momentum for sheer visual beauty; House of Flying Daggers finds a more muscular balance of aesthetic splendor and dazzling swordplay. --Bret Fetzer

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of The Godfather: Part III, director/screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola brings a definitive new edit and restoration of the final film in his epic Godfather trilogy-Mario Puzo's THE GODFATHER, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), now in his 60s, seeks to free his family from crime and find a suitable successor to his empire. That successor could be fiery Vincent (Andy Garcia)... but he may also be the spark that turns Michael's hope of business legitimacy into an inferno of mob violence. The film's meticulously restored picture and sound, under the supervision of American Zoetrope and Paramount Pictures, includes a new beginning and ending, as well as changes to scenes, shots, and music cues. The resulting project reflects author Mario Puzo and Coppola's original intentions of The Godfather: Part III, and delivers, in the words of Coppola, "a more appropriate conclusion to The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II."

Andy Milligan clawed his way from the depths of '60s independent cinema straight to the abyss of grindhouse infamy like no other filmmaker in history. 3 DISC COLLECTION INCLUDES 2 THOUGHT-LOST FILMS PLUS THE ACCLAIMED DOCUMENTARY THE DEGENERATE: THE LIFE AND FILMS OF ANDY MILLIGAN WITH 2 RARELY SEEN MOVIE PROJECTS AND 5+ COMBINED HOURS OF SPECIAL FEATURESGutter Auteur: The Lost Legacy of Andy Milligan is a definitive 3-disc tribute to one of cinema's most transgressive, misunderstood, and obsessively fascinating filmmakers. A pioneering outsider who clawed his way from the depths of 1960s underground filmmaking to the grindhouse gutters of 42nd Street, Andy Milligan remains, as Artforum called him, "The Fassbinder of 42nd Street" -- a volatile, visionary auteur whose work defied convention and decency alike. This landmark collection from Severin Films assembles an astonishing array of newly unearthed and restored material, including two features long thought lost: The Degenerates (1967), a post-nuclear nightmare rediscovered in a Brussels vault, and Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me! (1968), a searing psychodrama recovered from an Amsterdam archive. Both have been meticulously restored from their only surviving film elements, resurrecting Milligan's raw, handmade cinema for the first time in decades. Also included is the acclaimed 2025 documentary The Degenerate: The Life and Films of Andy Milligan, hailed by RogerEbert.com as "an eye-opening look into one of the weirder and darker corners of cinema history." Directed by Josh Johnson and Grayson Tyler Johnson, it captures the chaos, creativity, and pain of a filmmaker whose work was as personal as it was perverse. The set goes even deeper with two rarely seen projects -- the early short Compass Rose and 1979's gothic curio House of Seven Belles -- alongside more than five hours of special features that peel back the myth and madness surrounding Milligan's legacy. Among the extensive extras are Team Degenerate, a Tribeca Film Festival Q&A with directors Johnson and Johnson, author Jimmy McDonough (The Ghastly One), and Milligan collaborators Hope Stansbury, Natalie Rogers, Ken Lane, and John Borske; deleted scenes and trailers from The Degenerate; a feature-length audio commentary on The Degenerates with Milligan expert Alex DiSanto; the archival 1975 audio interview between Milligan and author Stéphane Bourgoin; and multiple new interviews with actors, scholars, and historians including Stephen Thrower (Nightmare USA). Other highlights include Two Weeks in Woodstock with actress Laura Cunningham, Magic Time! with Peter Ratray, Dove and Divine with Natalie Rogers, Licentious Lunacy with Alex DiSanto, and Thrower's multi-part analyses of Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me!, House of Seven Belles, and Compass Rose. A delirious collision of archival discovery, academic depth, and grindhouse sleaze, Gutter Auteur is essential viewing for fans of Andy Warhol's Bad, John Waters, and the darkest reaches of American exploitation cinema. As Screen Anarchy notes, Milligan "created a unique oeuvre that defies and defiles common decency at a level that is both shocking and admirable." Morbidly Beautiful called him "one of exploitation's most fascinating figures," and Video Watchblog's Tim Lucas described him as "one of fantastic cinema's most maligned--and malignant--originals." Raw, angry, and unrepentant, Andy Milligan's legacy has finally been given the restoration and respect it deserves. Description

Product Description Once upon a time in 'Fairy Tale Land', all is going well: Cinderella's at the ball, Rapunzel's letting her hair down, and Sleeping Beauty's about to get a big smooch. But just as it's all headed for 'Happily Ever After', there's a slight hitch: the wise Wizard--who keeps the scales of good and evil in balance--goes on holiday, resulting in his two assistants, Munk and Mambo, slipping up and letting Cinderella's wicked stepmother, Frieda, get hold of his magic staff. With this, Frieda is able to take over 'Fairy Tale Land', let the bad guys win, and turn the ending into 'Happily N'Ever After'. Now Cinderella--'Ella' to her friends--is playing in a whole new ball game. Instead of waiting for her handsome prince to find her, she's got to wake up from her romantic dream, find a way to stop Frieda, and restore the balance of good and evil. With her best friend at her side, and an unlikely army of dwarves, fairies, and Munk and Mambo to back her up, Ella leaps into action. Can she save the d Amazon.com With the success of Shrek, more irreverent animated fairy tales (like Hoodwinked) were inevitable. Unfortunately, the original blockbuster set the bar so high--for characterization, humor, and heart--that other such 'toons are sure to seem redundant. Neither as clever nor as intricately rendered as the tale of the great green ogre, Happily N'Ever After is no exception. That said, small children may find it easier to follow, i.e. no Matrix references. As with the live-action Ella Enchanted, the CGI-animated story revolves around a downtrodden lass named Ella (Sarah Michelle Gellar). Her full name, naturally, is Cinderella. The man of her dreams is pea-brained Prince Humperdink (Patrick Warburton). Little does she know that royal dishwasher Rick (Freddie Prinze Jr., Gellar's real-life husband) has his eye on her. When the Wizard (George Carlin) goes off on a golfing vacation, he leaves bumbling assistants Munk (Wallace Shawn) and Mambo (Andy Dick) in charge. In no time at all, they get into a scuffle, and Ella's evil stepmother, Frieda (Sigourney Weaver), swoops in to take control of Fairy Tale Land. Her first order of business: Let the bad guys win. Consequently, Sleeping Beauty continues to doze, the Seven Dwarves wind up in jail, etc. Ella joins forces with Rick to set things right. Along the way, she realizes that the lowly lad has more princely qualities than the actual prince, and Frieda's reign turns out to be shorter than intended. It's not a bad idea, but the movie drags and the tunes are unmemorable. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

Product Description New York "date doctor" Alex Hitchens (Will Smith) tries to charm gossip columnist Sara Melas (Eva Mendes) at the same time he is coaching shy Albert (Kevin James) on how to win the love of beautiful heiress Allegra Cole (Amber Valletta). Amazon.com Will Smith's easygoing charm makes Hitch the kind of pleasant, uplifting romantic comedy that you could recommend to almost anyone--especially if there's romance in the air. As suave Manhattan dating consultant Alex "Hitch" Hitchens, Smith plays up the smoother, sophisticated side of his established screen persona as he mentors a pudgy accountant (Kevin James) on the lessons of love. The joke, of course, is that Hitch's own love life is a mess, and as he coaches James toward romance with a rich, powerful, and seemingly inaccessible beauty named Allegra (Amber Valetta), he's trying too hard to impress a savvy gossip columnist (Eva Mendes) with whom he's fallen in love. Through mistaken identities and mismatched couples, director Andy Tennant brings the same light touch that made Drew Barrymore's Ever After so effortlessly engaging. As romantic comedies go, Hitch doesn't offer any big surprises, but as a date movie it gets the job done with amiable ease and style. --Jeff Shannon
