Keira Knightley is a talented singer-songwriter who meets Mark Ruffalo, a music producer, when they are both at rock bottom emotionally. They get their acts together to record an album all across New York City. The process of making the album heals them both. Don't know why it's rated R, I suppose for the excessive swearing, alcohol use, and adult-relationship discussions? There's no nudity, bedroom scenes, or violent themes (maybe one person gets punched). Suicide is hinted at but only briefly....
