I grew up watching this movie. I wasn't like the other slasher movies, this movie stuck to the basics and with that the fear increased all on its own.
Love this movie and the sequel.

The Halloween theme is one of the most iconic movie themes ever created. It captures the lurking presence of evil perfectly. Hard to believe it wasn't even included in the original cut of the movie!

I was 19 in 1978, you had to be there to get it, Halloween hands down. I am very lucky to have grown up in the 60/70s, so much of what was created back then is still here today either as cult movies, rip offs, remakes and worlds, the future will introduce many cool movies and things Im sure but I challenge it to repeat such a feat while Scooby Doo will still be here.

The older I get, the more I appreciate the original Halloween (1978). The simple plot, and lack of backstory regarding “The Shape” make it one of the most effective horror movies ever made.
