Don't know why this movie doesn't get seem to get the acclaim it's due. From beginning to end it's pretty much flawless. A technically brilliant film full of genuine humanity and recognizes the cost of war while being genuinely patriotic ( as opposed to propaganda).

Nice write-up but unfortunately, I was someone who just did not like this one. I know Dunkirk is highly regarded by some, and I can appreciate the technical craftsmanship, but Nolan's filmmaking style has never quite resonated with me. His emphasis on spectacle, nonlinear storytelling, and emotional restraint made it difficult for me to connect with the characters. I like better character building by the Director, and I just did not care about any characters in this one. Just wasn't my cup of tea.
