I really though it was cool that they made another one of these movies. I enjoyed the first two movies when they came out. I do not think you really need to have seen the first 2, just know it is 28 years after a zombie apocalypse. It is not a rehash of the original movies, and I found it more surreal and a bit thought provoking. Not better or worse than the first 2 but a bit different.
I did not watch the extras.
