Description

This disc contains the film 2046 (2004), from Criterion's World of Wong Kar Wai set. In 1960s Hong Kong, writer Chow Mo-wan takes a room at the Oriental Hotel next door to room 2046, where a mysterious woman once lived. As he drifts through a series of affairs — including with the prostitute now renting that room — he pours his romantic failures into a science-fiction story set in the year 2046, about a place people travel to in order to recapture lost memories, from which no one has ever returned — except, in his telling, one man.
