Description

Casanova - PBS Masterpiece Theatre The world's most famous lover lies fading away on his deathbed while the memories of his passionate past come flooding back to him in director Sheree Folkson's tale of lust and adventure in 18th century Europe. Casanova — portrayed as a young man by David Tennant ("Dr. Who") and as an elderly man by Peter O'Toole ("Lawrence of Arabia") — was a slave to the pleasures of the flesh. In his heyday, the tireless lover would seduce some of the world's great beauties, yet without the love of the married Henriette (Laura Fraser), happiness would always elude him. After a chance encounter in his final days reignites memories of his only love, the dying Casanova, with the help of his servant, Edith, (Rose Byrne, "X-Men: First Class") makes one final, desperate attempt to see Henriette again before death comes to claim him. Blu-ray comes with English subtitles for the deaf and hearing-impaired.
