The cop test pilot for an experimental police helicopter learns the sinister implications of the new vehicle. HE'S OUT THERE... FLYING THE MOST LETHAL WEAPON EVER MADE... In 1983, director John Badham (WarGames) followed his smash hit Saturday Night Fever with Blue Thunder, an adrenaline-packed fusion of techno-thriller grit and blockbuster spectacle. This tale of airborne surveillance and institutional overreach became a defining genre snapshot of Reagan-era anxiety, shot through with Hollywood muscle and a prescient distrust of unchecked technology. Roy Scheider (Jaws) stars as Frank Murphy, a veteran LAPD helicopter pilot picked to test-fly Blue Thunder, an experimental attack chopper bristling with unprecedented surveillance capabilities. When Murphy uncovers a covert plot to weaponize the aircraft for domestic policing, he takes to the skies in open rebellion. Hunted through the city by his own unit and shadowy government architects, Murphy's final patrol becomes a white-knuckle fight for justice - and survival. Co-starring Warren Oates (Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), and Candy Clark (American Graffiti), Blue Thunder delivers heart-pounding suspense and sky-high stakes. A landmark of analog-age futurism, it remains a razor-sharp thrill ride that fires on all cylinders from beginning to end. YOU’RE INVITED TO ORVILLE’S COMING OUT PARTY… IT’LL BE A SCREAM… YOURS!! The SET-UP: Five young kinky actors and their artistic director come to a desolate and nearly forgotten burial island, complete with a morbid history of MURDER, RAPE, CURSES and DEMONS. Alan (Alan Ormsby), the brilliant but bizarre Director of the company, has brought them to this foreboding place to dabble in witchcraft; specifically to dig up a fresh corpse and use it in a ritual ceremony which is supposed to raise the dead from their graves. The PAY-OFF: It seems as though Alan has really gathered his ""children"" here, only to play a practical joke on them and then to party the rest of the night away. However, the joke's on Alan. His bizarre ritual ceremony really does raise the dead from their graves...only they're in no mood to party! NOTE: ""BENJAMIN"" CLARK is really ""BOB"" CLARK, the creative director behind the hit films PORKY'S, BLACK CHRISTMAS and A CHRISTMAS STORY among others. ALAN ORMSBY, though he turned in what has been described as ""...one of the most obnoxious screen performances in history!"", has actually made a mark for himself as the screenwriter for such memorable films as MY BODYGUARD, CAT PEOPLE, KARATE KID 3 and PORKY'S 2.
