"I'm not living with you," Maggie snaps at Brick. "We occupy the same cage, that's all." The raw emotions and crackling dialogue of Tennessee Williams' 1955 Pulitzer Prize play rumble like a thunderstorm in this film version, whose fiery performances and grown-up themes made it one of 1958's top box-office hits. Paul Newman earned his first Oscar nomination as troubled ex-sports-hero Brick. In a performance that marked a transition to richer adult roles, Elizabeth Taylor snagged her second nomination. Her Maggie the Cat is a vivid portrait of passionate loyalty. Nominated for six Academy Awards~ , including Best Picture, and also starring Burl Ives (repeating his Broadway triumph as mendacity-loathing Big Daddy), Judith Anderson and Jack Carson, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof sizzles.

Description
Robert Taylor (Quo Vadis) and Stewart Granger (The Prisoner of Zenda) team up in this “grim, fierce, raw-boned outdoor fare” (Variety) filmed on location in rugged Custer State Park, North Dakota. Charlie Gilson (Taylor), a mean-spirited hunter, joins reserved Sandy McKenzie (Granger) on a great government-sanctioned buffalo hunt that will keep the buffalo population under control and make the men rich. Joining them are Woodfoot, an old, one-legged skinner (Lloyd Nolan), and Jimmy (Russ Tamblyn), a half-Indian boy. But trouble begins to break the team apart when Charlie kills a group of Indians whom he accuses of stealing his horses. Charlie’s subsequent mistreatment of the lone survivors – an Indian woman and her child – forces Sandy to realize that his partner is consumed with hate...and that he enjoys killing more than just buffalo. “Raw, real and rugged” (L.A. Examiner), The Last Hunt is so intense and powerful that its stark images will stay with you long after the film ends.

*This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* Vinegar Syndrome specializes in the masterful restoration and distribution of cult, horror, and erotic films from the 1960s-90s. Theresa Dunn’s mild demeanor and job as an inner-city school teacher for deaf children masks her rebellious nightlife of frequenting dance clubs and dive bars, searching for easy men and one-night stands. At odds with her older sister Katherine, whose seemingly idyllic life is itself a cover for infidelity and heartbreak, Theresa finds joy in her self-styled form of liberation, in part to overcompensate for the trauma of a disfiguring scar from childhood scoliosis and her repressive Catholic upbringing. When two wildly different men, the square but grounded James and fun but unhinged Tony, enter her life, Theresa is forced to confront her demons as never before, forcing her on a path of increased self-destruction. Adapted from Judith Rossner’s best-selling true crime novel of the same name, director and screenwriter Richard Brooks’ haunting drama LOOKING FOR MR. GOODBAR stars Diane Keaton (Annie Hall) in an unforgettable and Golden Globe-nominated leading performance alongside an Oscar® nominated supporting performance from Tuesday Weld (Play It As It Lays) in addition to supporting performances from William Atherton (Day of the Locust) and Richard Gere (American Gigolo) in his breakthrough role. An unsettling exploration of mid-70s urban America at the intersecting decline of the sexual revolution and the height of the disco age, filmed with grit and elegance by five-time Oscar® nominee William Fraker (Exorcist II: The Heretic) and featuring an iconic soundtrack of disco and Motown hits, Vinegar Syndrome at last presents the long overdue 4K UHD and Blu-ray debut of this remarkable studio masterpiece, which has been exclusively restored for this release from its original camera negative. Bonus Features: 1. 2-disc Set: 4K Ultra HD (High Bitrate UHD100) / Region A Blu-ray 2. 4K UHD presented in Dolby Vision High-Dynamic-Range 3. Newly scanned & restored in 4K from its 35mm original camera negative 4. Commentary track with filmmaker/film scholar Gillian Wallace Horvat 5. Description
In this rip-roaring Western classic, four soldiers of fortune seek out an oil barron's kidnapped wife. Nominated for three Academy Awards. Amazon.com Before The Wild Bunch, there was The Professionals, Richard Brooks's marvelous ode to friendship, loyalty, and disillusionment. It may not have the stylistic bravado or fatalistic doom of the legendary Sam Peckinpah film, but Brooks's storytelling is simple and steady and just as insightful. The difference is Brooks is a lot more optimistic. Lee Marvin and Burt Lancaster are buddies who have drifted into oblivion after fighting together in the Mexican Revolution. Marvin, the principled loyalist and munitions expert, lost his wife and his heart. Lancaster, the dynamite expert and unprincipled adventurer, keeps losing his pants. They team up with wrangler Robert Ryan and archer Woody Strode to rescue the beguiling Claudia Cardinale, who has been kidnapped by their old revolutionary buddie Jack Palance. So it's back into bloody Mexico they go on a "mission of mercy" for railroad tycoon Ralph Bellamy, who's paying handsomely for the return of his wife. But nothing is what it seems in this exciting, existential adventure, which was beautifully shot by Conrad Hall. Sarcastic quips, philosophical musings, and heart-rending reversals underlie Brooks's humanistic sentiments. These are tired, world-weary men who somehow find the strength and the will to pull together for the sake of love and commitment. Through it all, Brooks seems to be lamenting a decline in professionalism much deeper than his story. He's decrying Hollywood and the society at large, anticipating Peckinpah's later strategy. --Bill Desowitz

Description
Handsome Chance Wayne never found the Hollywood stardom he craved, but he's always been a star with the ladies. Now, back in his sleepy, sweaty Gulf Coast hometown, he's involved with two of them: a washed-up, drug-and-vodka-addled movie queen and the girl he left behind and in trouble. Paul Newman, Best Actress Oscar nominee Geraldine Page, Rip Torn and Madeleine Sherwood re-create their stage roles, and Ed Begley gives an Oscar -winning* portrayal as the town's corrupt political boss in a bravura film version of Tennessee Williams' Broadway hit. Sex. Money. Hypocrisy. Financial and emotional blackmail. Familiar elements of Williams' literary realm combine powerfully as Chance battles his private demons in a desperate bid to redeem his wasted life and recapture his lost sweet bird of youth.
