In Flic Story, based on the real-life memoir of police detective Roger Borniche, producer/star Alain Delon and his frequent collaborator, director Jacques Deray (La Piscine, Borsalino, Three Men to Kill and more), have crafted a gritty policier, a suspenseful cat-and-mouse thriller and a frank true-crime exposé. The year is 1947. When Émile Buisson, post-liberation France’s most notorious criminal (Jean-Louis Trintignant, The Outside Man), escapes from a mental asylum and embarks on a bloody crime spree, Paris cop Roger Borniche (Delon, Le samouraï) gets the thankless job of either bringing him in or stopping him dead. Through rooftop pursuits, alley stakeouts, nightclub showdowns and car-to-car gun battles, Borniche, a stylish and scrupulously ethical “flic” (French slang for “cop”), is forced to break the rules he usually only bends. Driven to the edge of reason, Borniche will even risk the safety of his lover Catherine (Claudine Auger, Thunderball) to put his maniac nemesis back in a strait-jacket and on death row. Deray follows in the footsteps of master filmmaker Jean-Pierre Melville (Un flic) by bringing unsentimental verve, intelligent pacing and multi-layered performances to this hard-boiled classic of ’70s French film noir. Presented by Martin Scorsese and featuring an operatic score by Nino Rota, ROCCO AND HIS BROTHERS is a timeless story of modernity, class tension, and family drama spun across an epic canvas by director Luchino Visconti. Looking for opportunity, five brothers move north with their mother to Milan, finding fame in the boxing ring and love in the same woman. Famously labeled by Scorsese as "one of the most sumptuous black-and-white pictures," ROCCO lives up to it's praise with it's new 4K restoration, painstakingly worked upon by the Film Foundation and the Cineteca di Bologna. With an all-star cast including Alain Delon, Annie Girardot, Renato Salvatori and Claudia Cardinale, this cinematic tale remains equal parts breathtaking and heartbreaking to behold.

Product Description Costa-Gavras (Z) puts the United States' involvement in South American politics under the microscope in this arresting thriller. An urban guerilla group, outraged at the counterinsurgency and torture training clandestinely organized by the CIA in their country (unnamed in the film), abducts a U.S. official (The Wages of Fear's Yves Montand) to bargain for the release of political prisoners; soon the kidnapping becomes a media sensation, leading to violence. Co-written by Franco Solinas (The Battle of Algiers), the electrifying State of Siege piercingly critiques the American government for helping institute foreign dictatorships while also asking difficult questions about the efficacy of radical violent acts to oppose such regimes.
