A gay couple's domestic life erupts into chaos when their son's conservative future in-laws come to dinner.

Description

Ugo Tognazzi (La Grande Bouffe) and Michel Serrault (Nelly & Monsieur Arnaud) reprise their roles as the two madcap domestic partners from the hilarious smash hit La Cage aux Folles. Having “become the most improbable of male screen heroes” (New York), Renato and Albin are this time taking on the secret service in an unforgettable cross-country—not to mention cross-dressing—adventure. In a move to make his partner, Renato (Tognazzi), jealous, the flamboyant Albin (Serrault) waits in a local café—dressed as a woman—hoping to be picked up. But Albin gets more than he bargains for when the fly he catches in his web is actually a spy who uses him as an unwitting courier of secret microfilm! Now on the run from ruthless agents, Albin and Renato flee to Italy where they attempt to hide out on a farm with Albin posing as Renato’s wife! Can Albin escape the deadly pursuit of these relentless spies or does he have to sustain this charade—as a woman—forever? Édouard Molinaro (A Pain in the Ass) returns to the director’s chair and maestro Ennio Morricone (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) provides the score for this uproarious sequel! Special Features: -Includes Both the Original French and English Dub Audio -Theatrical Trailer -Optional English Subtitles

Description

Nelly and Monsieur Arnaud, starring the luminous Emmanuelle Beard (Mission: Impossible), is the profoundly moving final lm from masterful French director Claude Sautee (Un Coeur end hiver). Nelly (Beard), 25, is stuck in a loveless marriage while barely making ends meet. A friend introduces her to the wealthy and much older Arnaud (Michel Perrault, La Cage aux Follies) in order to help him write his memoirs. Thus begins a playful, tentative flirtation that is forever threatening to bloom into a romance. But instead Nelly gets involved with Arnaud’s charming editor (Jean-Hughes An glade, La Femme Nikita). Arnaud and Nelly get stuck in a silent dance of sideways glances and off-hand gestures, the secret choreography of unrequited love. Nelly and Monsieur Arnaud, winner of Best Actor (Michel Perrault) and Best Director at the Cesar Awards, is a poignant, bittersweet, and beautifully performed romance that stands as an exquisite capstone to Sauté's brilliant career.
