Screen icon Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, Wanted: Dead or Alive) stars as blind Vietnam vet Nick Parker, who, with the calm of a Zen master and the precision of a sharpshooter, takes on a gang of ruthless Mafia killers in this action-packed odyssey from director Phillip Noyce (Dead Calm, Patriot Games). Armed with a razor-sharp sword and a cutting wit, Parker is one blind man who doesn’t bluff when the going gets tough. Caught in the crossfire of a gangland vendetta against his best friend (Terry O’Quinn, The Stepfather), Parker and his buddy’s young son are pursued across country by a barbaric band of homicidal thugs (led by hulking ex-boxer Randall “Tex” Cobb, Raising Arizona). Using superhuman senses and a hidden samurai sword, Parker slices his way through a slam-bang adventure and a drop-dead finale that’s every bit as funny as it is ferocious. Featuring Noble Willingham (Career Opportunities), Lisa Blount (Prince of Darkness), Meg Foster (They Live) and martial arts legend Shô Kosugi (Revenge of the Ninja). Special Features: -NEW Audio Commentary by Screenwriter Charles Robert Carner, Moderated by Filmmaker Douglas Hosdale -Theatrical Trailer (Newly Remastered in 2K) -Optional English Subtitles

Product Description THE CREATORS OF ALIEN BRING A NEW TERROR TO EARTH Something very strange is happening in the quiet coastal village of Potters Bluff, where tourists and transients are warmly welcomed... then brutally murdered. But even more shocking is when these slain strangers suddenly reappear as normal, friendly citizens around town. Now the local sheriff (James Farentino of THE FINAL COUNTDOWN) and an eccentric mortician (Academy Award winner Jack Albertson of WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY) must uncover the horrific secret of a community where some terrifying traditions are alive and well... and no one is ever really DEAD & BURIED. Melody Anderson (FLASH GORDON), Lisa Blount (PRINCE OF DARKNESS), and Robert Englund (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET) co-star in this genuinely chilling horror hit written by Ronald Shusett and Dan O'Bannon (ALIEN), directed by Gary A. Sherman (POLTERGEIST III), and featuring ultra-grisly gore effects by Oscar winner Stan Winston (JURASSIC PARK). Now Blue Underground is proud to present DEAD & BURIED in an eye-popping new restoration approved by Director of Photography Steven Poster, ASC (DONNIE DARKO), scanned in 4K 16-bit from its 35mm IP, with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio, and packed with Extras! A favorite of filmmakers like Guillermo Del Toro, DEAD & BURIED holds up beautifully as an effective piece of atmospheric horror cinema, the likes of which are rarely made. Blue Underground does another stellar job at restoring the film with an amazing A/V presentation in UHD and a bulky and entertaining extras package to go with it. Like all of their releases, this is an essential purchase. Highly recommended! --The Digital Bits
