Payal Kapadia’s acclaimed fiction-feature debut is a radiant ode to hope-giving connections forged amid big-city anonymity. Set against the hypnotic luminescence of Mumbai, All We Imagine as Light follows three very different women working at the same hospital—Prabha (Kani Kusruti), Anu (Divya Prabha), and Parvathy (Chhaya Kadam)—each contending with personal and material struggles amid a modernizing India riven by gentrification and rising Hindu nationalism. When Parvathy is evicted and forced to move back to her childhood village, Prabha and Anu travel with her to the seaside, where they shake loose their remaining secrets and—in one otherworldly sequence—a lingering ghost. Winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, All We Imagine as Light is a deep-rooted study of the fortifying power of friendship, propelled by moving performances and the director’s compassionate eye.

Talking to the boy’s mother, remarried to an American; to his grandfather, an ex-soldier as well as to his American-born girlfriend, bigger questions emerge: what dark history has pushed so many Filipinos to migrate to this wintry land? Why are these the conditions of their children? Out of what past does this detective emerge? Shot on 16mm under duress at the freezing turn of the millennium by a young, fearless Lav Diaz (Norte, The End of History), BATANG WEST SIDE remains a timeless epic about Filipino immigration over generations. Diaz’s sole film shot in the United States, and the longest film to be made by a Southeast Asia director at the time, Diaz does not shy away from the power of cumulative answers, revealed intricately over the course of the kind epic runtime and Dostoyevskian themes that would become hallmarks in the oeuvre of the Filipino master. *This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* Shunzo (Bengal) and his wife Michi (Masako Motai) run a beloved greengrocer on the outskirts of Tokyo. When Lee, a struggling exchange student from China, visits the shop but is unable to afford the produce, an uneasy relationship sprouts. Begrudgingly, Shunzo agrees to lower his prices. Soon, Lee’s classmates begin frequenting the shop. As Shunzo’s generosity sneaks up on him and strains his family’s welfare, he confronts his role as surrogate father to his newfound Chinese friends. Shot between May - July of 1989 and addressing the historically charged notion of a Sino-Japanese friendship, this lesser-seen masterpiece from director Nobuhiko Obayashi (House) chronicles the end of a decade marked by the Japanese economic bubble and the brutal close of possibility in China. A delicate elegy to the Chinese students of its time, BEIJING WATERMELON finds Obayashi at his most modern, channeling the style of Yasujiro Ozu, while his experimental flourishes provide the perfect disruption, inviting viewers to fill in the blanks of history. Bonus Features: 1. 2K restoration 2. Interview with Chigumi Obayashi 3. Theatrical Trailer & Teaser 4. Optional English subtitles 5. Booklet with new writing by Aaron Gerow 6. *This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* At a catholic high school in the Filipino city of Tuguegarao, a rambunctious batch of students rebel against all expectations to be good and clean: a germaphobe is tested by a bout of uncontrollable diarrhea; a trio of emos are forced to perform tinikling (a traditional Philippine folk dance) with a normie; an uncircumcised boy attempts to ask an ostracized pregnant girl to prom; and the mayor’s son is tempted by his father’s corrupt example while running for youth council chairman. Every frame of filmmaker Glenn Barit’s CLEANERS was printed, hand colored with highlighters, and then rescanned, giving each of its angst-drenched emotions a singular handmade texture and the whole film a bone-deep nostalgia for growing up in the Philippines in the early aughts. One-of-a-kind visuals, plus earnest tracks by Filipino emo band Typecast and a swelling score composed by Barit himself, compel us to feel the fullest extent of CLEANERS’ all at once loud, soft, funny, and sweet teenage antics and affections. Bonus Features: 1. Audio Commentary with Director Glenn Barit 2. Newly Commissioned Short Film, Yung Huling Swimming Reunion Before Life Happens (Glenn Barit, 2023, 20 minutes) 3. With few ties and an ambiguous moral compass that soon starts to spin out of control, his life outside the underworld begins to crumble. Following the success of Cops and Robbers (1979), Alex Cheung’s MAN ON THE BRINK further redefined the Hong Kong crime sub-genre. While indebted to New Hollywood staples such as Sidney Lumet’s Serpico (1973), this Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor Golden Horse Award winner unleashed a new appetite for undercover cop mayhem, prefiguring classics such as the Infernal Affairs trilogy (2002-2003) with its jaw-dropping synthesis of urban grit, realistic drama, and high stakes, captured with evocative hand-held, on-location camerawork. A missing link – if not a turning point – in Hong Kong action cinema, ready to be rediscovered. Bonus Features: 1. Interview with director Alex Cheung (2022, 39 minutes) 2.
