The cop test pilot for an experimental police helicopter learns the sinister implications of the new vehicle. HE'S OUT THERE... FLYING THE MOST LETHAL WEAPON EVER MADE... In 1983, director John Badham (WarGames) followed his smash hit Saturday Night Fever with Blue Thunder, an adrenaline-packed fusion of techno-thriller grit and blockbuster spectacle. This tale of airborne surveillance and institutional overreach became a defining genre snapshot of Reagan-era anxiety, shot through with Hollywood muscle and a prescient distrust of unchecked technology. Roy Scheider (Jaws) stars as Frank Murphy, a veteran LAPD helicopter pilot picked to test-fly Blue Thunder, an experimental attack chopper bristling with unprecedented surveillance capabilities. When Murphy uncovers a covert plot to weaponize the aircraft for domestic policing, he takes to the skies in open rebellion. Hunted through the city by his own unit and shadowy government architects, Murphy's final patrol becomes a white-knuckle fight for justice - and survival. Co-starring Warren Oates (Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), and Candy Clark (American Graffiti), Blue Thunder delivers heart-pounding suspense and sky-high stakes. A landmark of analog-age futurism, it remains a razor-sharp thrill ride that fires on all cylinders from beginning to end. Melodrama master John M. Stahl brings his exquisite restraint and almost spiritually pure visual style to this devastating, enduringly relevant story of mothers and daughters. Imitation of Life explores the friendship between two struggling single mothers: one (Claudette Colbert) a working-class white woman who ascends to the top of the business world, the other (Louise Beavers) her Black housekeeper, whose life is shattered by the rejection of her rebellious, white-passing daughter (Fredi Washington). It is this latter relationship—attuned to America’s bitter racial realities and heartbreakingly enacted by trailblazing Black performers Beavers and Washington—that lends the film its transcendent emotional power. This first adaptation of Fannie Hurst’s best-selling novel boldly confronts the complexities and contradictions of racial identity, economic exploitation, and the limits of the American dream. BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES 4K digital restoration, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack New interview with Miriam J. Petty, author of Stealing the Show: African American Performers and Audiences in 1930s Hollywood, about the resonance of Louise Beavers’s and Fredi Washington’s performances New interview with Imogen Sara Smith, contributor to The Call of the Heart: John M. Stahl and Hollywood Melodrama, about director John M. Stahl and his work with actor Claudette Colbert and others Trailer English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing PLUS: An essay by Petty

What do you do if you're the new manager of the minor-league team called the Buzz? One suggestion: pray for rain! Instead, Gus Cantrell (Scott Bakula) turns his team from a laughingstock into the equivalent of blue-chip stocks in this third Major League comedy that reunited five series returnees, including wisecracking play-by-play man Bob Uecker. The game may not be over 'til the fat lady sings, but when Cantrell first skippers the Buzz, she's a-hummin' before the team takes the field. The catcher is living proof why the chest protector and other protective gear are called "the tools of ignorance." The ace pitcher should earn frequent-flyer miles for the fast balls opposing batters sock into orbit. The double-play combo's motto should be "to error is human." The star slugger is a legend in his own mind. They play on diamonds. They work for peanuts. Batter up!

This unorthodox dream western by Robert Altman may be the most radically beautiful film to come out of the New American Cinema. It stars Warren Beatty and Julie Christie as two newcomers to the raw Pacific Northwest mining town of Presbyterian Church, who join forces to provide the miners with a superior kind of whorehouse experience. The appearance of representatives for a powerful mining company with interests of its own, however, threatens to be the undoing of their plans. With its fascinating, flawed characters, evocative cinematography by the great Vilmos Zsigmond, innovative overlapping dialogue, and haunting use of Leonard Cohen songs, McCabe & Mrs. Miller brilliantly deglamorized and revitalized the most American of genres. 4K UHD + BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES 4K digital restoration, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack One 4K UHD disc of the film and one Blu-ray with the film and special features Audio commentary from 2002 featuring director Robert Altman and producer David Foster Making-of documentary, featuring members of the cast and crew Conversation about the film and Altman’s career between film historians Cari Beauchamp and Rick Jewell Featurette from the film’s 1970 production Art Directors Guild Film Society Q&A from 1999 with production designer Leon Ericksen Excerpts from archival interviews with cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond Gallery of stills from the set by photographer Steve Schapiro Excerpts from two 1971 episodes of The Dick Cavett Show featuring Altman and film critic Pauline Kael Trailer English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing PLUS: An essay by novelist and critic Nathaniel Rich

George Strait makes his film debut in an entertaining look into the heart and soul of country music from Young Guns director Christopher Cain. Superstar Dusty Chandler (Strait) is tired of the showbiz grind. One day, something snaps, and Dusty takes "a little walk," ditching his beard and ponytail -- and, temporarily, his career -- to reclaim his down-home roots. But his manager (Lesley Ann Warren) retaliates: A stand-in (Kyle Chandler) lip-syncs his songs in concert. And a romance with a lovely rancher (Isabel Glasser) is on-again, off-again like a rodeo cowboy. The simple life can be so complex, but it's nothing a revitalized country boy can't handle!
