Description

In 1961, a nineteen-year-old Bob Dylan leaves Minnesota behind and lands in New York with a guitar and a head full of songs. He fights his way into the Greenwich Village folk scene, winning over mentors, collaborators, and lovers as his songwriting turns him into the movement's reluctant spokesman. Dylan soon chafes at the role everyone has written for him, and his music begins to change with him. Everything comes to a head at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, where plugging in an electric guitar makes him a lightning rod for outrage.
