“There is but one God. And his Shadow...” CONSECRATION is the story of Grace, an accomplished ophthalmologist in London, who is summoned to Mount Saviour Convent deep in the Scottish Highlands following the sudden and mysterious death of her brother who was a priest. Refusing to believe the convent’s insistence that he committed ‘suicide,’ and determined to discover what really happened to him, Grace starts her own investigation into her brother’s death as the nuns prepare a consecration ceremony to purify the holy site. In doing so, she inadvertently shines a light on something far more disturbing, which relates to the forgotten years of her own childhood, intertwined with that of the holy order of the convent and the secret it’s charged with protecting. As much as her investigation draws her there, Grace feels as though Mount Saviour is drawing her in and closing its arms around her. The convent lies under the shadow of an ancient church’s ruins, the convent’s predecessor, which gaze out onto the grey and boundless Atlantic coastline. Wormlike markings are etched around the crucifixes on the cold stone walls, which once encased a relic… Exploring the convent’s sepulchral cloisters, and the wild cliffs and windswept beaches nearby, Grace is plagued by violent visions unmoored from time and reality. This place awakens traumatic memories of her father’s crazed intent to punish his family for an evil he saw in Grace. As she nears the truth, hidden in the cryptic notes of her brother’s journal, a Shadow from a dormant age begins to claw out for her. Grace’s journey of self-discovery propels her to horrifying depths, the true nature of who she is unravelling before her, along with her psyche. All the while, the convent closes ranks about her… “exceptionally well made and boasting stellar performances” – Morbidly Beatiful “For those easily swayed by blood, nuns, and Jenna Malone – i.e., those with good taste – there’s plenty of that to go around.” – The Playlist Top About this item Similar From the Brand Reviews Consecration

Newly remastered in 4K by the BFI National Archive, The Draughtsman's Contract is Peter Greenaway’s masterpiece. Set in a richly exaggerated 17th-century England, this witty, stylized, erotic country house murder mystery catapulted Greenaway to the forefront of international art cinema. Adorned with intricate wordplay, extravagant costumes and opulent photography, Greenaway’s first narrative feature weaves a labyrinthine mystery around the maxim “draw what you see, not what you know.” An aristocratic wife (Janet Suzman) commissions a young, cocksure draughtsman (Anthony Higgins) to sketch her husband’s property while he is away—in exchange for a fee, room and board, and one sexual favor for each of the twelve drawings. As the draughtsman becomes more entrenched in the devious schemings in this seemingly idyllic country home, curious details emerge in his drawings that may reveal a murder. Bolstered by a mesmerizing score by then-newcomer Michael Nyman and stunning cinematography by Curtis Clark, The Draughtsman’s Contract is a luscious cinematic banquet for eye, ear and mind. Special Features: • Peter Greenaway commentary and video introduction (10 minutes) • Four deleted scenes (10 minutes) • Behind-the-scenes footage and on-set interviews (10 minutes) • Interview with composer Michael Nyman (7 minutes) • Greenaway Short Films: Intervals (1969, 6 minutes), Windows (1974, 4 minutes), Dear Phone (1976, 17 minutes), Water Wrackets (1978, 11 minutes) • Re-release trailer
