*This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* This church wants to scare the hell out of you . . . literally. HELL HOUSE is a fly-on-the-wall documentary that follows the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Dallas, TX as they build a haunted house for the Y2K Halloween season. But instead of Draculas and Freddy Kruegers, the church recreates scenes that graphically depict modern-day "evils" such as botched abortions, fatal drunk driving crashes, and drug-induced suicides. Shot on gorgeous 16mm film stock by director George Ratliff and friends, this is an outrageous, enthralling, and poignant vérité window into the creative effort and religious zeal behind this over-the-top event. Newly restored from the original 16mm camera negative, HELL HOUSE is a new favorite obsession for fans of AMERICAN MOVIE and MISTER ORGAN. Bonus Features: 1. Restored from the original 16mm camera negative 2. Commentary with director George Ratliff, co-producer Zachary Mortensen, director of photography Jawad Metni, & editor Mike LaHaie, moderated by filmmaker David Farrier 3. Short: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT 4. THIS AMERICAN LIFE audio episode 5. Trinity Church awards ceremony 6. Outtakes 7. Original trailer 8. Christian scare film: YOUTH SUICIDE FANTASY (1985)

Description

For ten years, comedian Connor Ratliff (creator of podcast series Dead Eyes) has performed as filmmaker George Lucas in his cult comedy act The George Lucas Talk Show. Co-hosted by actor Griffin Newman (The Tick) and featuring A-list guests booked by producer Patrick Cotnoir (including Saturday Night Live's Heidi Gardner and Severance's Zach Cherry), the show allows Connor to both exalt and poke fun at the vast world of Lucas, including Star Wars. However, Connor begins to question if the show should continue due to it's ongoing stress with little financial and career gain. I'm "George Lucas": A Connor Ratliff Story explores the mysteries of Connor's inner self in this portrait of an artist, and his own feelings on his history, value, and legacy are revealed. This two-disc Special Edition of the documentary is the ultimate gift for George Lucas Talk Show fans! It replaces Ratliff with a disturbingly smooth CGI model*, includes a record-breaking* 30 Audio Commentaries from the cast, the crew and former guests like Rich Sommer (Mad Men), legendary comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis, and much more. Plus there are oodles of Deleted and Extended Scenes, Q&As, and chaotic clips from the live shows! Maclunkey!
