*This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* In a small village near the Moldova and Romanian border, a complacent police chief named Ilie (Iulian Postelnicu) toes the line with his daily duties while turning a blind eye to the low-level contraband carried out by the town’s powerful elite. But after the mysterious death of a local resident is swept under the rug by Mayor Constantine (Vasile Muraru) and The Priest (Daniel Busuioc), Ilie reluctantly springs into action, facing off against a deeply corroded and corrupt system of justice. A deeply cynical, slow-burn Neo-noir that quietly crescendos to a shocking (and mordantly funny) climax, MEN OF DEEDS, triumphed at the 2022 Romanian Gopo Awards where it won Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Screenplay and more. Dekanalog is proud to present Paul Negoescu’s pertinent deadpan thriller in this new exclusive director-approved edition. Bonus Features: 1. Audio commentary with Director Paul Negoescu, Lead Actor Iulian Postelnicu, Cinematographer Ana Draghici and Producer Ana Voicu 2. Behind the scenes footage 3. Promotional interviews with the cast 4.
