Description
From Preston Sturges, the legendary writer/director of Christmas in July, The Lady Eve, The Palm Beach Story and Unfaithfully Yours comes this classic comedy about an opportunist who turns corruption into a promising political career, but struggles to stay on top when he tries to go honest. Dan McGinty (Brian Donlevy, The Quatermass Xperiment) is a hungry hobo who wows the ballot-stuffers by voting 37 times in an election for Mayor. He immediately becomes the protégé of “The Boss” (Akim Tamiroff, After the Fox), who guides and schemes McGinty to Alderman, Mayor and ultimately Governor with a series of payoffs, kickbacks and bribes. In trouble, McGinty flees the country and winds up (or down) as a bartender in a seedy Central American dive where the tale has a gleeful surprise ending. The Great McGinty, a high-spirited comedy of rogues and rascals, won the 1941 Oscar for Best Original Screenplay (Sturges). Special Features: -Brand New 4K Master -NEW Audio Commentary by Film Historian Samm Deighan -Optional English Subtitles -Dual-Layered BD50 Disc -Theatrical Trailer

Description
Wealthy industrialist Walter Williams appears to have everything — power, money, success, and a seemingly idyllic life with his young, beautiful wife, Irene. When a business trip to Denver comes up, Walter invites Irene along, hoping the scenic mountain drive past Lake Tahoe will double as a short vacation. But Irene claims she is ill and cannot travel, insisting instead that Walter drive her poor cousin, who is hitchhiking home to Evanston, Illinois. The 'cousin' is in fact Irene's lover, Jim Torrence, part of the couple's plot to murder Walter. Fate intervenes: after Jim attacks Walter and flees the scene, he dies in a head-on collision. Walter survives, pieces together the truth, and — claiming amnesia — goes into hiding, determined to find a way to bring Irene to justice.

RAW GUTS FOR GLORY! FLESH AGAINST STEEL! The most dangerous game ever devised, to pit man against man, flesh against steel - the figure-8 race! Jack Hill (Coffy, Foxy Brown) follows up Spider Baby, once again teaming up with Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses) in one of his greatest roles for this action-spectacular crash-o-rama! Richard Davalos (East of Eden) stars as Rick Bowman, a street punk who winds up in jail after a street race goes wrong. Bailed out by race promoter Grant Willard, Davalos is put in the deadly track where he comes up against Haig's maniacal winner Hawk Sidney. Featuring an outstanding supporting cast including Brian Donlevy (The Quatermass Xperiment) in his last film appearance, Ellen Burstyn, billed as Ellen McRae (The Exorcist), and Beverly Washburn (Spider Baby), Pit Stop is one of Hill's lesser known films but arguably his greatest. Filmed on a real figure-8 track, Hill and his crew were able to capture gripping real-life car wreck scenes lending the film a brilliant sense of realism. You've never seen a motion picture like this before - can you take it?
