*This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* Vinegar Syndrome specializes in the masterful restoration and distribution of cult, horror, and erotic films from the 1960s-90s. In the midst of the European witch trials, a small Austrian town is subject to the sadistic whims of self-appointed witchfinder Albino, who inflicts torture and agonizing death on those he accuses of conspiracy with the Devil. But when the zealous Lord Cumberland arrives, along with his executioner and aristocratic young attendant Christian, to take over the responsibility of local witch-hunting, the town is plunged into even greater depths of terror and depravity as he metes out ever more brutal tortures on the populace, all in the name of God. As Lord Cumberland's maniacal practices reach a fever pitch, and Christian's would-be love interest, Vanessa, ends up as his latest target, Christian is thrown into a crisis of faith, as the perilous edge of violence draws ever closer. The result of an intensely troubled production which saw British writer/director Michael Armstrong (House of the Long Shadows) virtually at war with producer, famed Austrian actor Adrian Hoven (Kiss Me Monster), MARK OF THE DEVIL became an immediate international hit, generating equal parts acclaim and condemnation, with the film being banned in the United Kingdom and promoted in the U.S. by infamous distributor Hallmark Releasing with vomit bags and the slogan "Rated V for Violence!" Y: Marshals expands the Yellowstone universe with a gritty neo-Western procedural set in modern-day Montana. Following the explosive conclusion of Yellowstone, Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) leaves ranch life behind to join an elite unit of U.S. Marshals. Combining his skills as a cowboy and former Navy SEAL, Kayce becomes part of a specialized team tasked with bringing “range justice” to a region plagued by escalating violence, organized crime, and deep-rooted corruption. The series explores Kayce’s struggle to balance family obligations with the psychological toll of law enforcement. As he adapts to his new role, Kayce faces threats from gangs, cartels, and extremist groups, all while navigating the moral gray areas of frontier justice. His team includes seasoned operatives and ambitious newcomers, each with their own secrets and motivations. Together, they confront high-stakes cases that test their loyalty, resilience, and sense of duty. Season 1 unfolds across 13 episodes, blending intense action sequences with character-driven drama. From tense standoffs in remote ranchlands to undercover operations in small towns, the show captures the rugged beauty and peril of Big Sky Country. Returning Yellowstone characters like Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham), Mo (Mo Brings Plenty), and Tate Dutton (Brecken Merrill) deepen the narrative ties, while new faces—played by Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, Logan Marshall-Green, and Brett Cullen—add fresh dynamics to the ensemble. Created by Taylor Sheridan, Spencer Hudnut, and David C. Glasser, Y: Marshals combines the authenticity of Sheridan’s storytelling with the procedural intensity Hudnut honed on SEAL Team. Executive producers include Sheridan, Hudnut, Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, and Luke Grimes, ensuring the series maintains the cinematic scope and emotional depth fans expect from the Yellowstone franchise. At its core, Y: Marshals is about identity, sacrifice, and the cost of justice in a land where the line between law and survival is razor-thin. It’s a gripping new chapter that honors Yellowstone’s legacy while carving its own path through the untamed American West.

Description

Picking up where Volume One left off, this sophomore collection of Hong Kong cinema classics draws together many of the best films from the final years of the Shaw Brothers studio, proving that while the end was nigh, these merchants of martial arts mayhem weren’t going to go out without a fight! Armed with stunning special features and ravishing new restorations, this boxset is even bigger and bolder than the last one. We begin with kung fu master Lau Kar-leung’s instant classic The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, in which his adoptive brother Gordon Liu achieved overnight stardom as the young man who unexpectedly finds spiritual enlightenment on the path to vengeance; Lau and Liu followed the original with two comically inventive sequels, Return to the 36th Chamber and Disciples of the 36th Chamber, both included here. Already established as a genius at blending dazzling action with physical comedy, Lau himself plays the lead role in the hilarious Mad Monkey Kung Fu, coupled here with Lo Mar’s underrated Five Superfighters. Next, we once again meet Chang Cheh’s basher boy band the Venom Mob in no less than four of their best-loved team-ups: Invincible Shaolin, The Kid with the Golden Arm, Magnificent Ruffians and culminating in the all-star Ten Tigers of Kwangtung, co-starring Ti Lung and Fu Sheng. After Lau brings us perhaps his best high-kicking comedy with My Young Auntie, a playful star vehicle for his real-life muse Kara Hui, we see Shaw Brothers fully embracing Eighties excess in our strangest double feature yet: Wong Jing’s breathtakingly wild shoot-‘em-up Mercenaries from Hong Kong, and Kuei Chih-hung’s spectacularly unhinged black magic meltdown The Boxer’s Omen. Last but certainly not least, Lau Kar-leung directs the last major Shaw production, Martial Arts of Shaolin, filmed in mainland China with a hot new talent named Jet Li in the lead role; it is paired in this set with The Bare-Footed Kid, a reverent remake of a Chang Cheh classic with Johnnie To (Running Out of Time) in the director’s chair and Lau back on fight choreography duties, in arguably the ultimate filmed tribute to Shaws’ everlasting cinematic legacy. Description

Presented here are three standout films drawn from Lo Wei's wuxia world: The Black Butterfly, Death Valley and Vengeance of a Snow Girl. A prolific writer and director, Lo Wei found fame in the 1970s following the enormous international success of The Big Boss and Fist of Fury, his collaborations with the inimitable Bruce Lee. In the years before he kickstarted a kung fu revolution, though, he had been working on an accomplished series of wuxia pian for Shaw Brothers. Presented here are three standout films drawn from Lo Wei's wuxia world: The Black Butterfly, Death Valley and Vengeance of a Snow Girl. In The Black Butterfly, a good-hearted thief acts as the Robin Hood of the martial world, robbing from the rich to give to the poor - and they begin by stealing a fortune in gold from a group of five ruthless bandits holed up at Five Devils Rock. Then, in Death Valley, the Lord of Chao Manor (Lo Wei) is murdered by his niece (Angela Yu Chien), leading to a bitter fight to claim his land and a clash between a hired swordsman (Chen Hung-lieh) and the Lord's heir apparent (Yueh Hua). Finally, in Vengeance of a Snow Girl, a young woman (Li Ching) takes revenge for her murdered parents, who were killed in a dispute over the legendary Tsui Feng sword - leading to a final showdown on frozen ground. Lo Wei's The Black Butterfly, Death Valley and Vengeance of a Snow Girl are three of the finest wuxia films produced in the years before Bruce Lee's meteoric rise to fame would cause a tectonic shift in the Hong Kong film industry, as the era of kung fu loomed on the horizon. Eureka Classics is proud to present all three films on Blu-ray. Bonus Materials 1080p HD presentations of all three films on Blu-ray Optional English subtitles, newly revised for this release New audio commentaries on all three features by action cinema experts Mike Leeder and Arne Venema Hong Kong Hustle – new interview with Hong Kong cinema scholar Wayne Wong on the life and work of Lo Wei Cast & Crew Actors: Lisa Chiao Chiao Yueh hua Director: Lo Wei Top About this item Similar From the Brand Reviews Martial Law (Standard Edition)
