Written in 1931, H.P. Lovecraft's iconic genre-bending tale of suspense and alien terrors is brought to life in the style of the classic horror films of the 1930s like Frankenstein, Dracula and King Kong. Using its MythoscopeTM process - a mix of vintage and modern techniques - the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society expands on Lovecraft's original tale while still bringing you unparalleled authenticity. Horror and science fiction collide in the adventure of Albert Wilmarth, a folklore professor at Miskatonic University, as he investigates legends of strange creatures rumored to dwell in the most remote mountains of Vermont. Wilmarth's investigation leads him to a discovery of horrors quite beyond anything he ever imagined, and ends in a desperate attempt to escape the remote New England hills with his life and sanity intact. The studio that brought you The Call of Cthulhu now presents one of Lovecraft's weirdest tales as a feature-length talkie starring Matt Foyer as the intrepid folklorist, Albert Wilmarth. Celebrated television and stage star Barry Lynch plays Henry Akeley, supported by an ensemble of outstanding actors. Shot on location in New England and in Hollywood, The Whisperer in Darkness brings Lovecraft's intense imagination to vivid life in the style of the 1930s. This Bluray edition features the film and Special Features in HD. It also features a commentary track with Sean Branney, Andrew Leman and David Robertson.

“This whole world is wild at heart and weird on top.” With this torrid adaptation of the novel by Barry Gifford, David Lynch pushed his vision of nightmarish Americana into new realms of delirious excess and feverish romanticism. Burning with libidinal abandon, Laura Dern and Nicolas Cage are Lula and Sailor, outlaw lovers whose reckless passion sends them on the run through a menacing South, where their dream of freedom collides with a vortex of violence and depravity. Blending all-American iconography ranging from Elvis to The Wizard of Oz into a twisted southern-gothic soap opera, and featuring memorable supporting turns by Willem Dafoe and Diane Ladd, the film conjures a dark dreamscape of danger, desire, and fantasy that stands as perhaps the most transcendently perverse love story of the 1990s. 4K UHD SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES New 4K digital restoration of the unrated international version, supervised by director of photography Frederick Elmes and approved by the David Lynch Estate, with 2.0 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack Alternate 5.1 surround mix newly created from the original 35 mm DME magnetic tracks by rerecording mixer Dean Hurley One 4K UHD disc of the film presented in Dolby Vision HDR and one Blu-ray with the special features New introduction by film programmer and critic Dennis Lim Archival documentaries featuring interviews with Elmes; director David Lynch; actors Nicolas Cage, Laura Dern, Willem Dafoe, Diane Ladd, and Isabella Rossellini; novelist Barry Gifford; editor Duwayne Dunham; filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci; and other members of the cast and crew Deleted scenes and outtakes, with a new 5.1 surround mix by Hurley Readings from Room to Dream, a 2018 book coauthored by Lynch and critic Kristine McKenna Segments from a 1988 episode of Cinéma, de notre temps featuring Lynch Music video directed by Lynch for Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing PLUS: An excerpted interview with Lynch from filmmaker and writer Chris Rodley’s book Lynch on Lynch, and a new introduction by Rodley Top Similar From the Brand Questions Reviews Wild at Heart (The Criterion Collection) [4K UHD] Wild at Heart (The Criterion Collection) [4K UHD]

A group of middle-aged friends decide to rev up their routine suburban lives with a freewheeling motorcycle trip. Taking a long dreamed-of breather from their stressful jobs and family responsibilities, they can't wait to feel the freedom of the open road. When this mis-matched foursome - who have grown far more used to the couch than the saddle - set out for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, they encounter a world that holds far more than they ever bargained for. The trip begins to challenge their wits and their luck, especially during a chance run-in with the Del Fuegos, a real-life biker gang who are less than amused with their novice approach. In Jonathan Glazer's film The Zone of Interest, there is no traditional narrative plot. Instead, the movie tracks the daily domestic routine of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss and his wife, Hedwig. They live in a pristine house with a lush garden immediately adjacent to the concentration camp wall, raising their children while ignoring the industrial mass murder unfolding just feet away.
