A spellbinding blend of social observation and artful shocks, the debut feature from Nikyatu Jusu plunges into the increasingly fractured consciousness of Aisha (Anna Diop), a Senegalese immigrant who takes a job as a nanny for a wealthy white family in New York City. Separated from her own son and casually exploited by her employers, Aisha finds herself consumed by unsettling visions and a growing rage—one that could either destroy or empower her. This visually captivating tour de force—the first horror movie to win the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival—distills complex ideas about motherhood, inequality, and cultural dislocation into a work of dreamlike dread. DIRECTOR-APPROVED BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES New 4K digital master, approved by director Nikyatu Jusu, with 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio and uncompressed stereo soundtracks New program featuring Jusu, actors Anna Diop and Michelle Monaghan, and director of photography Rina Yang Suicide by Sunlight (2019), a short film by Jusu Trailer English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing and English descriptive audio PLUS: An essay by critic Angelica Jade Bastién

With the impending release of her new book, “The Nesting,” agoraphobic New York-based writer Lauren Cochran decides to spend some time outside the city to find inspiration for her next novel. Description

It’s angry. It’s hungry. It’s extremely well-armed—and it’s descending on a small seaside town to sample the local cuisine! When a giant, bloodthirsty octopus emerges from the deep, John Huston (Winter Kills), Shelley Winters (Bloody Mama), Bo Hopkins (White Lightning) and Henry Fonda (Meteor) do all they can to keep the marine menace from turning their sleepy village into a one-stop snack-shop. Cult movie maven Ovidio G. Assonitis, the twisted mind behind Beyond the Door, The Visitor, Madhouse and The Curse, serves up a slimy scare-fest with a pounding score by Italian genre great Stelvio Cipriani (A Bay of Blood, What Have They Done to Your Daughters?). Executive producer Roger Corman unleashes hideous aqua beasts and horrors from outer space in two of his most memorable thrillers. A mutant stalks the Earth when the body of a dead astronaut is used as an alien incubator in Night of the Blood Beast (1959). Equally revolting is Attack of the Giant Leeches (1958), which stars B-movie siren Yvette Vickers (Attack of the 50-Foot Woman) in a watery scare fest about massive, bloodsucking monsters. The two features were directed by Bernard Kowalski who went on to be Emmy-nominated for his television work, but they are truly representative of Corman's world: cheap, tasteless, and extraordinarily fun! SPECIAL FEATURES: full commentary tracks by Tom Weaver and 'The Weaver Players' for both films full color inserted booklet with original essay by Tom Weaver Recut trailers using archival film elements Comparison
