Pacifiction - On the French Polynesian island of Tahiti, the High Commissioner of the Republic and French government official De Roller (Benoît Magimel) is a calculating man with flawless manners. His somewhat broad perception of his role brings him to navigate the high end ’establishment’ as well as shady venues where he mingles with the locals. Especially since a persistent rumor has been going around: the sighting of a submarine whose ghostly presence could herald the return of French nuclear testing. Description
An Academy Award winning dark fable set five years after the end of the Spanish Civil War, Pan s Labyrinth encapsulates the rich visual style and genre-defying craft of Guillermo del Toro (The Devil s Backbone, Cronos). Eleven-year-old Ofelia (Ivana Baquero, in a mature and tender performance) comes face to face with the horrors of fascism when she and her pregnant mother are uprooted to the countryside, where her new stepfather (Sergi López), a sadistic captain in General Franco s army, hunts down Republican guerrillas who refuse to give up the fight. The violent reality in which she lives merges seamlessly with a fantastical interior world when Ofelia meets a faun in a decaying labyrinth and is set on a strange, mythic journey that is at once terrifying and beautiful. In his revisiting of this bloody period in Spanish history, del Toro creates a vivid depiction of the monstrosities of war infiltrating a child s imagination and threatening the innocence of youth. DIRECTOR-APPROVED BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES - Newly graded 2K digital master, supervised by director Guillermo del Toro, with 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack - Alternate DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround soundtrack - Audio commentary by del Toro from 2007 - New interview with del Toro by novelist Cornelia Funke about fairy tales, fantasy, and Pan s Labyrinth - New interview with actor Doug Jones - Four 2007 making-of documentaries, examining the characters, production, special effects, themes, and music of the film - Interactive director s notebook - Footage of actor Ivana Baquero s audition for the film - Animated comics featuring prequel stories for the film s menagerie of creatures - Programs comparing selected production storyboards and del Toro s thumbnail sketches with the final film; visual effects work for the Green Fairy; and elements of the film s score - Trailers and TV spots - PLUS: An essay by film critic Michael Atkinson

Description
Mondo Macabro presents THE POWER OF DARKNESS - A Descent into madness… or a discovery of the truth? Fernando Vidal, a formerly wealthy man now living in a tiny single room in Buenos Aires, is accosted one evening by someone who claims to be a childhood friend. Vidal denies ever having met him. But later the stranger turns up at his threadbare apartment and begins to ask questions about their childhood together, reminding Fernando about how he would catch birds and poke out their eyes just to see if they could fly without sight. These long suppressed memories start to haunt Fernando and he becomes increasingly detached from reality. From that point on, strange events accumulate in his life. A seemingly drunk neighbour tells him about sighting a huge bird - a warning of disasters to come. Fernando begins to notice blind men everywhere in the city, some even following him through the night-time streets and onto subway trains. Finally his childhood friend tells him that he has discovered a secret society of the blind which is plotting to take over the world. And suddenly Fernando begins to see evidence of this everywhere. Following a series of clues, he climbs the stairs of an old apartment building in a deserted section of the city and finds himself lost in a vast and dark labyrinth where bizarre and terrifying visions flash in and out of view. Somewhere in the void, he is convinced, lays the answer to all his problems. He steps forward, as the darkening shadows swallow him up. Part crazed conspiracy theory, part horror story and part philosophical inquiry, THE POWER OF DARKNESS is a film like no other. Although based on the highly regarded novel, On Heroes and Tombs, the film has been more or less forgotten. This is its first English-friendly release and is a must see for adventurous film watchers. Specs: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1. DTS-HD MA 2.0 Stereo. Region code: All. Special Features: Newly restored from negative. 'About the Film' video short. Optional newly created subtitles. New and exclusive artwork by Justin Coffee.

Product Description FACE YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE. AND PRAY YOU DON’T DIE! Originally shot as an 8-part horror miniseries for Italian television, maverick director Sergio (TORSO) Martino's 1982 horror mystery THE SCORPION WITH TWO TAILS was later cut down to feature length and released theatrically in various European markets. But the movie hasn't properly been available in North America on Blu-ray or DVD....until now! THE SCORPION WITH TWO TAILS film tells the story of a young woman (Elvire Audray, NOSFERATU IN VENICE) who is having gruesome dreams of ancient sacrificial rites. When her husband is murdered in the same ritualistic way, she begins to suspect that someone or something is targeting her, leading her deep into a nightmarish mystery involving death, smuggling and reincarnation. Featuring a score by the great Fabio Frizzi (in part using cues from Lucio Fulci's CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD) this stylish and bizarre chiller stars the iconic John Saxon (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET) in a key role, features a supporting turn by Italian exploitation regular Franco Garofalo (HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD) and is filmed on location in eerie Italian catacombs, caves and cemeteries. Full Moon is excited to be bringing this eerie chiller back from the dead in a handsome presentation remastered from the best available materials. SPECIAL FEATURES: Deleted Scenes Trailers Review Two Tails is good enough to love wearing its wears and tears proudly. --Josh G - Oh The Horror Review

Shocking, notorious and endlessly exploitative, the movie continues to disgust audiences all over the globe nearly 50 years after its initial release. Possibly the most infamous entry into the Nazisploitation genre, Sergio Garrone's SS Experiment Camp is a harrowing and deliberately triggering experience which, even by today's standards is as powerful as it was when originally released in 1976. From its provocative, tabloid baiting original poster of a naked woman dangling crucified and naked, the movie pushed the boundaries as far as it could. Set during the tail-end of World War II we follow the deranged experiments performed on innocent prisoners of war by the utterly sadistic and evil Colonel von Kleiben in his attempt to create the perfect Aryan race. Product Description When Margot (Michelle Williams), 28, meets Daniel (Luke Kirby), their chemistry is intense and immediate. But Margot suppresses her sudden attraction; she is happily married to Lou (Seth Rogen), a cookbook writer. When Margot learns that Daniel lives across the street from them, the certainty about her domestic life shatters. She and Daniel steal moments throughout the steaming Toronto summer, their eroticism heightened by their restraint. Swelteringly hot, bright and colorful like a bowl of fruit, TAKE THIS WALTZ leads us, laughing, through the familiar, but uncharted question of what long-term relationships do to love, sex, and our images of ourselves. Amazon.com "What's missing?" is a question contemplated at some point in every relationship. Margot (Michelle Williams) loves her husband Lou (Seth Rogan), but sometimes she feels unaccountably empty and anxious. When she meets Daniel (Luke Kirby), she denies her instant attraction because she's a happily married woman. But when chance and circumstance continue to throw the two together, Margot's restlessness and longing override her fear of the unknown and she acts on their mutual attraction. Margot's choice permanently alters her relationship with both Lou and Daniel, but what eventually becomes apparent is that true happiness depends more on learning to love oneself than on the love received from others. Take This Waltz is an introspective, leisurely paced film that is sometimes graphic, is always heartfelt, and says more through meaningful looks and telling actions than with actual words. Luckily, Williams excels in this type of role and Rogan and Kirby also prove up to the challenge. --Tami Horiuchi

Description
A talented and versatile journeyman, director Sergio Martino (The Case of the Scorpion’s Tail, Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key) lent his talents to multiple genres across his long and varied career, but is undoubtedly best known for his giallo thrillers from the early 70s. Among the most highly acclaimed of these, 1973’s Torso revels in the genre’s time-honored traditions while simultaneously laying the groundwork for the modern slasher movie. A sex maniac is prowling the streets of Perugia, targeting the picturesque university town’s female students. Alarmed at the plummeting life expectancy of the student body, Jane (Suzy Kendall, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage) and her three friends elope to a secluded country villa – only to discover that, far from having left the terror behind, they’ve brought it with them! Also known as Carnal Violence, Torso was released in Italy towards the end of the giallo boom before enjoying a second life on the American grindhouse circuit. Co-starring Tina Aumont (Salon Kitty) and Luc Merenda (The Violent Professionals), the film finds its director at the top of his game, delivering copious levels of violence, sleaze, and one of the tensest cat-and-mouse games ever committed to celluloid! 4K ULTRA HD BLU-RAY LIMITED EDITION CONTENTS Brand new 4K restoration by Arrow Films from the original camera negative 4K (2160p) Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) of the 94-minute Italian and 90-minute English-language export versions of the film Restored original lossless Italian and English mono soundtracks* Original Italian and English front and end titles and insert shots Optional English subtitles for the Italian soundtrack Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing for the English soundtrack Audio commentary by Kat Ellinger, author of All the Colours of Sergio Martino All the Colors of Terror – interview with co-writer/director Sergio Martino The Discreet Charm of the Genre – interview with actor Luc Merenda Dial S for Suspense – interview with co-writer Ernesto Gastaldi Women in Blood – interview with filmmaker Federica Martino, daughter of Sergio Martino Saturating the Screen – interview with Mikel J. Throughout the '70s, Italian filmmakers fired a canon of blasphemy to launch what remains the most controversial genre of all. For the first time ever on Blu-ray, these four uncut/uncensored Nunsploitation classics: In Sergio Bergonzelli's CRISTIANA DEVIL NUN (1972), a woman finds pleasures of the flesh in a convent of the damned. Suzy Kendall and Eleonora Giorgi star in Domenico Paolella's historically accurate and wholly amoral STORY OF A CLOISTERED NUN (1973). Sleaze maestro Joe D'Amato combines Sapphic lust, Satanic panic and pure filth for IMAGES IN A CONVENT (1979). And with THE TRUE STORY OF THE NUN OF MONZA (1980), director Bruno Mattei fulfills ungodly vows of graphic sacrilege.
