With this blisteringly funny, unapologetically confrontational satire, writer-director Spike Lee examined the past, present, and future of racism in American popular culture, issuing a daring provocation to creators and consumers alike. Under pressure to help revive his network’s low ratings, television writer Pierre Delacroix (Damon Wayans) hits on an explosively offensive idea: bringing back blackface for a “new-millennium minstrel show.” The white network executives love it, and so do audiences, forcing Pierre and his collaborators to confront their public’s insatiable appetite for dehumanizing stereotypes. Shot primarily on unvarnished digital video and boasting spot-on performances from Savion Glover, Tommy Davidson, Jada Pinkett Smith, Michael Rapaport, Mos Def, and Paul Mooney, Bamboozled is a stinging indictment of mass entertainment at the turn of the twenty-first century that looks more damning with each passing year. Their relationships with one another, much like friends and families everywhere, are and have always been a bit on the dysfunctional side. While the friends are all in different stages of their personal and professional lives, each is experiencing some type of emotional rollercoaster. When the group reunites for the holidays, current feelings collide with their old emotional baggage to produce some serious fireworks--some hysterically funny and some deadly serious. Like their characters, Taye Diggs (Private Practice), Nia Long (Soul Food), Morris Chestnut (Kick-Ass 2), Terrence Howard (Hustle & Flow), Sanaa Lathan (Contagion), Monica Calhoun (Love & Basketball), Melissa De Sousa (Miss Congeniality), and Regina Hall (Scary Movie franchise) all seem to revel in this onscreen reunion, and their performances are strong, funny, and emotionally authentic. It's refreshing to see a sophisticated black film that, like life, is a contradictory blend of the funny, sad, sexy, practical, irreverent, and spiritual. --Tami Horiuchi

International super-villain Fu Manchu and his sadistic daughter Lin Tang reveal their latest diabolical plot for world domination. The Unrated European Version! From his secret lair deep within the South American jungle, international super-villain Fu Manchu (Christopher Lee of THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN) and his sadistic daughter Lin Tang (Tsai Chin of YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE) reveal their latest diabolical plot for world domination: ten beautiful women are infected with an ancient poison so deadly that one kiss from their lips will bring instant death and lead to a global plague. Now the Asian madman's nemesis, Nayland Smith (Richard Greene of TALES FROM THE CRYPT), must desperately hunt an antidote in a savage land where rape and torture reign and the ultimate evil lies in THE BLOOD OF FU MANCHU. Maria Rohm (VENUS IN FURS) and Shirley Eaton (GOLDFINGER) co-star in this wild Fu Manchu feature written and produced by Harry Alan Towers (EUGENIE) and directed by the one and only Jess Franco (VAMPYROS LESBOS).
