Product Description Newly restored from the original negative, experience Francis Ford Coppola's award winning contemplation on the Vietnam War in high definition 4k UHD with this extended 40th anniversary release. Review A never-before-seen and newly restored cut of Francis Ford Coppola’s spectacular cinematic masterpiece in a way which the director believes “looks better than it has ever looked and sounds better than it has ever sounded”. Apocalypse Now was nominated for 8 Academy Awards (including Best Picture) and won 2 Academy Award for Best Cinematography and Best Sound, 2 BAFTAs for Best Direction and Best Supporting Actor and the Palme d’Or in Cannes. Starring Academy Award winner Marlon Brando (1972, Best Actor, The Godfather), Academy Award winner Robert Duvall (1983, Best Actor, Tender Mercies), Golden Globe winner Martin Sheen (2001, Best Actor – TV Series, “The West Wing”), Academy Award nominee Dennis Hopper (1986, Best Supporting Actor, Hoosiers), Academy Award nominee Laurence Fishburne (1993, Best Actor, What’s Love Got to Do with It), and Academy Award nominee Harrison Ford (1985, Best Actor, Witness), the film follows Army Captain Willard (Martin Sheen), a troubled man sent on a dangerous and mesmerizing odyssey into Cambodia to assassinate a renegade American colonel named Kurtz (Marlon Brando), who has succumbed to the horrors of war and barricaded himself in a remote outpost. The best visual and sound technologies have been used to present Coppola’s true vision of the film: one that delivers deep, visceral visual and auditory impact. “The audience will be able to see, hear and feel this film how I always hoped it could be-from the first ‘bang’ to the final whimper” said the film-maker. All three versions of this film are available on this release including Apocalypse Now: The Final Cut, Apocalypse Now: Theatrical Cut, and Apocalypse Now Redux Extended Cut. Restored from the original negative for the first time ever, Apocalypse Now Final Cut is Coppola’s most complete version of his multi-awarded classic. This is the first time the original negative has ever been scanned and over 11 months and 2,700 hours were spent on cleaning and restoring the film’s 300,173 frames. Brought to life through ultra-vivid picture quality with Dolby Vision, delivering spectacular colours never before seen on a screen, with highlights that are up to 40 times brighter and blacks that are 10 times darker. It has also been mixed in Dolby Atmos to offer a truly immersive sound experience and it has been enhanced Meyer Sound Laboratories’ newly developed Sensual Sound, a technology engineered to output audio below the limits of human hearing. Frank Capra adapted a hit stage play for this marvelous screwball meeting of the madcap and the macabre. On Halloween, newly married drama critic Mortimer Brewster (Cary Grant, cutting loose in a hilariously harried performance) returns home to Brooklyn, where his adorably dotty aunts (Josephine Hull and Jean Adair, who both starred in the Broadway production) greet him with love, sweetness . . . and a grisly surprise: the corpses buried in their cellar. A bugle-playing brother (John Alexander) who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt, a crazed criminal (Raymond Massey) who’s a dead ringer for Boris Karloff, and a seriously slippery plastic surgeon (Peter Lorre) are among the outré oddballs populating Arsenic and Old Lace, a diabolical delight that only gets funnier as the body count rises. A profound masterpiece from one of the most revered filmmakers in the history of cinema, Robert Bresson’s Au hasard Balthazar follows the donkey Balthazar as he is passed from owner to owner, some kind and some cruel but all with motivations beyond his understanding. Balthazar, whose life parallels that of his first keeper, Marie, is truly a beast of burden, suffering the sins of humankind. But despite his powerlessness, he accepts his fate nobly. Through Bresson’s unconventional approach to composition, sound, and narrative, this simple story becomes a moving parable about purity and transcendence. Blu-ray Special Edition Features New 4K digital restoration, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack Interview from 2004 with film scholar Donald Richie “Un metteur en ordre: Robert Bresson,” a 1966 French television program about the film, featuring director Robert Bresson, filmmakers Jean-Luc Godard and Louis Malle, and members of Au hasard Balthazar’s cast and crew Trailer Plus: An essay by film scholar James Quandt

In the mid-1960s, the runaway success of Sergio Leone’s “Dollars” trilogy gave rise to an explosion of similar productions as filmmakers by the dozen sought to capitalize on this new, uniquely Italian take on the western, characterized by their deeply cynical outlook, morally compromised antiheroes and unflinching depictions savage violence. This specially curated selection gathers together four outstanding examples of the genre from the height of its popularity, all centered around a theme of revenge. In Lucio Fulci’s Massacre Time, Franco Nero and George Hilton star as estranged brothers forced to band together against the powerful businessman and his sadistic son who’ve seized control of their hometown. In Maurizio Lucidi’s My Name is Pecos, Robert Woods stars as the eponymous Mexican gunslinger, returning to Houston to settle a long-standing score against the racist gang boss who wiped out his entire family. In Massimo Dallamano’s Bandidos, Enrico Maria Salerno plays a former top marksman who, years after being maimed by a former protégé, teams up with a fresh apprentice to get his revenge against the man who betrayed him. Finally, in Antonio Margheriti’s And God Said to Cain, the inimitable Klaus Kinski stars as a man who has spent the last decade in a prison work camp for a crime he didn’t commit and who, upon his release, immediately sets out to wreak vengeance on the men who framed him. Featuring a wealth of key Euro cult talent both behind and in front of the camera, Arrow Video is proud to present these four classic westerns in sparkling high definition restorations alongside a plethora of bonus materials. *This listing is for the standard edition version and does NOT come with a limited edition slipcase!* One of notorious Eurosleaze auteur Jess Franco and producer Erwin C. Dietrich's most shocking films,1976's BARBED WIRE DOLLS is the ultimate unholy “Women-in-Prison” exploitation opus. In it, Franco favorite and lifelong muse Lina Romay (Doriana Gray, Rolls Royce Baby) stars as the wide-eyed Maria, an unfortunate young woman who kills her father (played by Franco in a delirious flashback sequence) in self defense after he attempts to rape her. She is tried, sentenced and shipped off to what is perhaps the grisliest, greasiest and most depraved women’s penitentiary in screen history where, at the hands, fingers and fists of psychotic lesbian warden Monica Swinn (The Duke of Burgundy, Female Vampire), she and her fellow inmates are subjected to an endless onslaught of perverse psychological and sexual abuse. Filled to the gills with sex, Sapphic erotica, copious amounts of female nudity and offensively staged scenes of genital humiliation, this sleazy Franco masterpiece will rattle your cage in the sweetest way... The feature debut of director Frank Henenlotter (Brain Damage, Frankenhooker), 1982’s Basket Case is a riotous and blood-spattered “midnight movie” experience, now immortalized in a lavish 4K restoration by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Duane Bradley seems like a pretty ordinary guy. His formerly conjoined twin Belial, on the other hand, is a deformed creature who lives in a wicker basket. The feature debut of director Frank Henenlotter (Brain Damage, Frankenhooker), 1982’s Basket Case is a riotous and blood-spattered “midnight movie” experience, now presented for the first time ever on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. THE TENANT IN ROOM 7 IS VERY SMALL, VERY TWISTED, AND VERY MAD. The feature debut of director Frank Henenlotter (Brain Damage, Frankenhooker), 1982's Basket Case is perhaps his most revered - a riotous and blood-spattered midnight movie experience, now immortalized in a lavish new 4K restoration by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Duane Bradley is a pretty ordinary guy. His formerly conjoined twin Belial, on the other hand, is a deformed, fleshy lump whom he carries around in a wicker basket. Arriving in the Big Apple and taking up a room at the seedy Hotel Broslin, the pair set about hunting down and butchering the surgeons responsible for their separation. But tensions flare up when Duane starts spending time with a pretty blonde secretary, and Belial's homicidal tendencies reach bloody new extremes. Filmed on a shoestring budget against the backdrop of 1980s New York (where the movie would become a staple of the infamous 42nd Street grindhouse circuit), Basket Case has clawed its way from its humble origins to become one of the most celebrated cult movies of all time. Screen icon Tony Curtis (The Vikings) blends hard-hitting toughness with humor as a Marine who must battle Japanese soldiers, private demons and fellow Marines in this gripping World War II saga. Bristling with suspense and rugged action, Beachhead is a classic war drama that delivers plenty of emotion-stirring heroics. Four Marines embark on a hazardous island mission to verify reports about a secret Japanese minefield. The intelligence comes from a French planter - who may or may not be an Allied spy - and his beautiful daughter. If their story is true, can the Marines outgun their enemies, make it through the treacherous jungle, and rendezvous with American forces in time to prevent disaster? Hollywood veteran Stuart Heisler (The Glass Key) direct this gripping war adventure featuring strong performances by Frank Lovejoy (The Hitch-Hiker), Mary Murphy (The Wild One), Edward Franz (Hatari!) and Skip Homeier (The Gunfighter).

With a ready supply of one-liners and a delightfully retro sense of fashion, Fran Drescher (TV's "The Nanny") provides the who, what, when and wear of this funny and smart comedy about a ruler from a land of tyrants and kings -- and a hairdresser from Queens. Eager to make her way in the world, hairdresser Joy Miller (Drescher) gets her chance when she's sent to a modern once upon-a-time land called Slovetzia to tutor the three children of gruff, widowed dictator Boris Pochenko (Timothy Dalton). Joy thinks she's been hired as a beautician. Boris thinks she's been hired as an able science teacher. Science or not, chemistry of another sort begins to work its magic. Joy's spirited openness blows the cobwebs off tradition-bound Slovetzia. And her resourcefulness gives Pochenko's heart a makeover...or does it? The best way to find out is to make an appointment with The Beautician And The Beast!

The release of François Truffaut’s The 400 Blows in 1959 shook world cinema to its foundations. The now-classic portrait of troubled adolescence introduced a major new director in the cinematic landscape and was an inaugural gesture of the revolutionary French New Wave. But The 400 Blows not only introduced the world to Truffaut—it also unveiled his most indelible creation, Antoine Doinel. Initially patterned closely after Truffaut himself, the Doinel character (played by the irrepressible and iconic Jean-Pierre Léaud) reappeared in four subsequent films that knowingly portrayed his myriad frustrations and romantic entanglements, from his stormy teens through marriage, children, divorce, and adulthood. This box set presents Truffaut’s celebrated saga in its entirety: the feature films The 400 Blows, Stolen Kisses, Bed and Board, and Love on the Run, and the short subject Antoine and Colette. 4K UHD + BLU-RAY SPECIAL EDITION FEATURES 4K digital restorations of all five films, with uncompressed monaural soundtracks Four 4K UHD discs of the films presented in Dolby Vision HDR and four Blu-rays with the films and special features New 4K restoration of Les mistons, Truffaut’s 1957 short film, with commentary by Claude de Givray, Truffaut’s then assistant director Two audio commentaries for The 400 Blows, one featuring film scholar Brian Stonehill and the other Truffaut’s lifelong friend Robert Lachenay Archival interviews with Truffaut and his collaborators, including actors Jean-Pierre Léaud, Claude Jade, and Marie-France Pisier and cowriters de Givray and Bernard Revon Video essays by film historian Serge Toubiana for Stolen Kisses and Les mistons Introducing My Father, François Truffaut, a 2019 interview with Laura Truffaut by filmmaker Daniel Raim Trailers PLUS: Essays by Annette Insdorf, Kent Jones, Andrew Sarris, Noah Baumbach, and Chris Fujiwara, and a 1971 piece by Truffaut THE 400 BLOWS with ANTOINE AND COLETTE François Truffaut’s first feature is also his most personal. Told through the eyes of Truffaut’s cinematic counterpart, Antoine Doinel (Jean-Pierre Léaud), The 400 Blows sensitively recreates the trials of Truffaut’s own difficult childhood. The film established Truffaut as a trailblazing auteur of the French New Wave. Also included is Truffaut’s Antoine and Colette, from the 1962 omnibus feature Love at Twenty. STOLEN KISSES Jean-Pierre Léaud returns in the delightful Stolen Kisses, the third installment in the Antoine Doinel series. It is now 1968, and the mischievous and perpetually lovestruck Doinel has been dishonorably discharged from the army and released onto the streets of Paris, where he stumbles into the unlikely profession of private detective and embarks on a series of misadventures. Whimsical, nostalgic, and irrepressibly romantic, Stolen Kisses is François Truffaut’s timeless ode to the passion and impetuosity of youth. BED AND BOARD The fourth installment in François Truffaut’s chronicle of the ardent, anachronistic Antoine Doinel, Bed and Board, finds our hapless hero once again in crisis. Expecting his first child and still struggling to find steady employment, Doinel (Jean-Pierre Léaud) involves himself in a relationship with a beautiful Japanese woman that threatens to destroy his marriage. Lightly comic, with a touch of the burlesque, Bed and Board is a bittersweet look at the travails of young married life and the fine line between adolescence and adulthood. LOVE ON THE RUN Antoine Doinel strikes again! In the final chapter of François Truffaut’s saga, we find Doinel (Jean-Pierre Léaud), now in his thirties, convivially concluding his marriage, enjoying moderate success as a novelist, and clinging to his romantic fantasies. The newly single Doinel finds an object of his affections in Sabine, a record-store salesgirl whom he pursues with the fervid belief that without love, one is nothing. Along the way, he renews his acquaintance with previous loves and confronts his own chaotic past. In Love on the Run, Antoine Doinel is still in love, and because he’s still in love, he’s still alive.
