Description
In his first starring role (and the film that launched his career), Buster Keaton stars in The Saphead as Bertie Van Alstyne, the spoiled son of a powerful Wall Street financier. Unable to escape the wealth and comfort that are foisted upon him, he pursues individuality in a series of comic misadventures in the speakeasies of New York, at the altar of matrimony, and even on the floor of the American stock exchange. The Saphead was instrumental in establishing Keaton as a bona fide star and greatly influenced his formulation of the Buster persona: a lonely, stone-faced soul thwarted by circumstance yet undauntedly resourceful and indefatigable in his struggle for love and survival within a chaotic world. BONUS FEATURES: Loaded with special features including an alternate version of the film and more (TBD).

Product Description ***Released for the first time ever on Blu Ray*** In her stunning, semi-autobiographical directorial feature debut, Asia Argento plays Anna Battista, a rising young actress who, despite her popularity and success, experiences despair and degradation at the hands of an abusive industry. Her harrowing journey towards redemption leads her on a sordid spree of excess across America and Europe while trying to recapture her innocence and find true love. Newly restored in HD, Scarlet Diva has been rediscovered by audiences and critics alike in the wake of the Time's Up movement for its full-throated rage against the international filmmaking machine and is credited as perhaps the earliest #MeToo film (San Francisco Chronicle). Bonus features include: Two audio commentaries by Asia Argento - the original commentary from 2002 and an updated commentary (2018) Looking into the Eye of the Cyclops with Joe Coleman featurette Asia Argento interview The Making-Of Scarlet Diva 2018 theatrical trailer Original release promos Review WINNER - Best Actress - Melbourne Underground Film Festival OFFICIAL SELECTION - Toronto Int'l. Film Festival OFFICIAL SELECTION - Mar del Plata Film Festival OFFICIAL SELECTION - Thessaloniki Int'l. Ms. Argento's response, at once earnest and thoroughly calculated, is to take revenge by exploiting herself more thoroughly than anyone else could, turning sado-masochism, which is customarily played as a duet, into a solo performance. --A.O. Serpico is based on the true story of a New York policeman who discovers that honesty is not expected to be part of his job. He endures scorn and mistreatment from his fellow cops while attempting to perform his duties with integrity. The character of Frank Serpico, combining the best elements of the Establishment and counterculture, is a tour-de-force role for Al Pacino (The Godfather, Scarface). The film is a breathtaking suspense story and a fascinating character study as well as a memorable statement about government’s inherent flaws. Rendered with unflinching realism by director Sidney Lumet (12 Angry Men, Dog Day Afternoon), Serpico earned 1973 Oscar nominations for its screenplay by Waldo Salt (Midnight Cowboy) and Norman Wexler (Saturday Night Fever) from the acclaimed biography by Peter Maas (The Valachi Papers), and for Best Actor, cementing Pacino as one of the cinema’s most versatile and iconic talents. Featuring Cornelia Sharpe (Busting, The Reincarnation of Peter Proud) as Leslie, Serpico’s girlfriend.

From the brilliant minds of director Billy Wilder (One, Two, Three) and screenwriter I.A.L. Diamond (The Apartment) comes the quintessential madcap farce, starring the marvelous Marilyn Monroe (The Seven Year Itch) and her bosom companions Tony Curtis (Captain Newman, M.D.) and Jack Lemmon (The Fortune Cookie). Stone, the acclaimed director of A Blueprint for Murder, Julie, Cry Terror!, The Last Voyage and Stormy Weather, comes this romantic musical based on the life of Norway’s greatest composer, Edvard Grieg (Toralv Maurstad, Black Palm Trees). Description
This collection features three pugilistic film noir classics: FLESH AND FURY (1952) – Screen legend Tony Curtis (Some Like It Hot) sizzles in the knock-out boxing film noir Flesh and Fury from director Joseph Pevney (The Midnight Story). Gold-digging blonde Sonya Bartow (Jan Sterling, Ace in the Hole) and retired fight manager Pop Richardson (Wallace Ford, He Ran All the Way) take deaf-mute boxer Paul Callan (Curtis) under their wing. Now Paul is all but unstoppable…until reporter Ann Hollis (Mona Freeman, Angel Face) appears and falls for the handsome prizefighter. With a three-way bout under way for influence over Paul, he takes matters into his own hands, but learns the hard way that getting what he wants isn’t necessarily a happy ending. Flesh and Fury features rousing boxing sequences, gripping drama and an exceptional cast: Curtis excels in one of his first starring roles, and Sterling is sensational as the money-hungry bombshell. Featuring Harry Guardino (Madigan) as Lou Callan, Paul’s brother. THE SQUARE JUNGLE (1955) – Tony Curtis (The Vikings) stars as a grocery clerk turned prizefighter in the riveting film noir The Square Jungle. Eddie Quaid (Curtis), in danger of losing his father to alcoholism and his girl Julie (Pat Crowley, There’s Always Tomorrow) through lack of career prospects, goes into boxing. His cop friend McBride (Paul Kelly, Crossfire) finances him; ex-con Bernie Browne (Ernest Borgnine, Marty) trains him. Three years later, he’s a challenger for the championship, and Julie re-enters his life. Can she win him back from a predatory blonde? And why does the prospect of Eddie’s winning worry Bernie more than his losing? Directed by Jerry Hopper (Naked Alibi) and featuring a fine supporting cast that includes Jim Backus (Bright Victory), David Janssen (Macho Callahan), John Marley (I Want to Live!), Leigh Snowden (Outside the Law) and real-life heavyweight champ Joe Louis. WORLD IN MY CORNER (1956) – Screen great Audie Murphy (To Hell and Back) is a scrappy young fighter named Tommy Shea — “born in a dump, educated in an alley” — in the electrifying film noir World in My Corner. The up-and-coming boxer catches the eye of the wealthy Robert Mallinson (Jeff Morrow, Captain Lightfoot), who allows him to train at his Long Island estate. Shea soon falls for Mallinson’s daughter, Dorothy (Barbara Rush, Magnificent Obsession), but fears he doesn’t have the money to support her in proper style. To get this money, he decides to work for crooked promoter Harry Cram (Howard St. John, Strange Bedfellows), even though this means dropping his honest manager, Dave Bernstein (John McIntire, Johnny Stool Pigeon). As the big fight approaches, however, he begins to have second thoughts. Directed by Jesse Hibbs (Ride a Crooked Trail), World in My Corner is a bang-up drama with a hard-hitting performance by Murphy. Special Features: • Brand New 2K Masters • NEW Audio Commentary for FLESH AND FURY by Film Historian/Filmmaker Daniel Kremer • NEW Audio Commentaries for THE SQUARE JUNGLE and WORLD IN MY CORNER by Film Historian Eddy Von Mueller • Theatrical Trailer (World in My Corner) • Optional English Subtitles

Famed filmmaker Otto Preminger (Rosebud) tackles a rare acting role as the camp’s commandant; Robert Strauss (The Seven Year Itch) earned the film’s third Oscar® nomination (Best Supporting Actor) for his role as “Animal.” Here’s “the granddaddy of all World War II P.O.W. films” (Leonard Maltin), a powerful antiwar classic from the brilliant creator of Five Graves to Cairo, A Foreign Affair, Sabrina, Some Like It Hot and The Apartment. Description
Humphrey Bogart… as a film producer cradling an ever-present Scottish Terrier? Don’t let the dog fool you as the famed tough guy also shows his flair for comedy in Stand-In (1937), a riotous, lacerating satire on the motion picture industry. New York bank Pettypacker and Sons has a problem, a colossal problem, in the form of their investment in Colossal Studios in Hollywood. Prior to selling the failing film factory to scheming financier Ivor Nassau (C. Henry Gordon) for half its worth, the board asks their top number cruncher Atterbury Dodd (Leslie Howard) for his assessment, and he ardently recommends the bank retain ownership of the studio. At an impasse, the firm sends Dodd out west to investigate the situation at Colossal, where he quickly enlists the help of producer Douglas Quintain (Bogart) and Lester Plum (Joan Blondell), a former child star now working in the occupation of the film’s title. Resistance to Dodd’s scrutiny, however, comes not only from Nassau, but from everyone who stands to benefit from the studio’s sale: temperamental “Russian” director Koslofski (Alan Mowbray), studio diva Thelma Cheri (Marla Shelton) and PR flack Tom Potts (Jack Carson at his obnoxious best). Directed by Tay Garnett (The Postman Always Rings Twice) and produced by Walter Wanger (You Only Live Once), Stand-In leaves no Tinseltown target untouched while serving up a sprightly mix of slapstick, send-up and sentiment… with screwball-inspired romance for seasoning!
