Hail, Tarzan and his Mate, the second of six M-G-M Tarzan films. Tarzan has been living for several years with the Englishwoman Jane Parker, but now Jane's former fiance, Martin Arlington, comes to the jungle hoping to use her to find the legendary elephants' graveyard and its fabled treasure of ivory. Arlington's arrogance and greed, however, lead to his gruesome death. Now, Tarzan races across the jungle, calling his friends, the elephants, to help save Jane from the same grisly fate!

TARZAN AND HIS MATE from 1934 is arguably the sexiest of the series. Produced during the pre-code era both Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O’Sullivan wear minimal loin clothes and there is even an extended underwater sequence with a totally nude Jane. The production itself is fairly spectacular with some effective special effects. Weissmuller plays the monosyllabic ape man wonderfully. Direction is credited to Cedric Gibbons who was much better known as a production designer. But he was fired...
