Rental Family is one of those movies that sneaks up on you. It starts with a quirky idea and somehow turns it into something funny, heartfelt, and surprisingly moving. Brendan Fraser is fantastic and brings the kind of warmth that makes you root for him almost immediately. The movie gets plenty of laughs out of its unusual premise, but it never forgets that there are real people and emotions underneath all the comedy.
