Mad Max: Fury Road looks and sounds incredible on the 4K UHD disc, with a noticeable jump in sharpness and depth thanks to the HDR. The action scenes feel more vivid and layered, but a few effects like flames and the dust storm can look a bit too artificial, which is a letdown. The Atmos track is a huge highlight, wrapping the chaos around you from all directions, even compared to the standard Blu-ray. I’d still call this a strong start for UHD, just not a perfect one.
