Jack the Ripper 4K UHD 06/25 Blu-ray (Rental)

Disc 1 (the 4K UHD disc) contains both versions of the film — the U.K./European hybrid cut and the re-scored U.S. version — in 4K with HDR10, plus an audio commentary with co-director/co-producer Robert S. Baker, screenwriter Jimmy Sangster and assistant director Peter Manley, moderated by British horror historian Marcus Hearn, and the trailer. In 1888 Whitechapel, Scotland Yard Inspector O'Neill is under pressure to catch the murderer the papers call Jack the Ripper, and he accepts help from Sam Lowry, a New York detective and old friend visiting London. As the killings continue and the city panics, the two men follow a trail of false leads toward a killer hiding in respectable society. The film survives in two forms — its European version and a re-scored American cut prepared for US showman Joseph E. Levine.
