An elderly Chinese man routs evil in a Western frontier town by setting up his circus for the townspeople. The performers affect each of the circus' visitors in a different way, and in the end the unscrupulous citizens who dominate the town repent. Under the direction of George Pal, Tony Randall plays eight different characters in the movie, with the help of Oscar -winning special visual effects and make-up that earned William Tuttle a special Honorary Award for his work on this cult classic.

George Pal’s 1963 THE SEVEN FACES OF DR. LAO is an odd little fantasy film. Tony Randall plays Dr. Lao who uses his circus to solve the problems of a small western town. Using a variety of makeups and special effects he also plays a seer, the Madusa, Merlin the Magician, Pan, the abominable snowman, and a talking snake.
