Young reporter Tintin buys a model ship at a Brussels flea market and is plunged into danger when strangers try to take it from him almost immediately. Tintin joins forces with the captain's hard-drinking descendant, Captain Haddock, to follow the trail wherever it leads. With the bumbling detectives Thomson and Thompson in tow, the pair race a ruthless rival who wants the treasure for himself.
