Existentialism meets mysticism. Waking Life is a disjointed collection of interviews tied loosely together by a strange fantasy narrative about the interviewer learning to lucid dream. It's got Alex Jones in it. Back when it came out, it was a neat use of animation for heady college kid consumption, but it was difficult to watch in 2026 with the drastic movement. YouTube has taken over the space this movie attempted to contribute to.
