This is my favorite Chaplin film. Normally his films are a bit silly for me but I really enjoyed him parodying Hitler! More that that, this film came out in 1940, when Hitler was at the height of his power. If you enjoy silent films, Charlie Chaplin, or watching Hitler get parodied, give this a try.

Excellent movie, great story, and wonderfully acted! I grew up in the south, but had no idea about some of the things that went on that this movie highlights. I have not read the book it is based on so I cannot comment on how close it stays to the book.

I would highly recommend the first 5 movies in this series for any horror fan and number 6 is still pretty good. If you enjoyed the rest of the series this is worth the watch, but is no where as good as the first few films.

If you have enjoyed the first 5 movies you will likely like this one but the series seems to have started to run out of steam by the 6th movie.

I would highly recommend the first 5 movies in this series for any horror fan.

One of my favorite movies! I remember seeing this as a kid and enjoying it but it was so much better when I re-watched it as an adult. The plot and premise are great but one of the things I missed as a kid was the amazing filming. To me this is a must watch if you love cinema.
